Out of Closet (B&T time-travel romance), Ch. 27, Part 4
Chapter 27, part 4: Lies will set you free…or is it the truth? (Bette wants to know the truth but will Tina tell her?)
(Previously) “Thanks Dana, will you please throw away all the cards and phone numbers you’ve got? Unless Bette saw somebody who’s number she’d like to keep…” Tina said teasingly and laughed when Bette stared back at her with shock and surprise.
“Bette, I’m only teasing you. Sorry but I’m not going to share you with anybody.”
Bette let out her breath so loud that her relief was evident to everyone.
“Okay, let’s go home,” Tina said, smiling at Bette and putting her arm around Bette’s waist, “We need to talk but I’d rather not do it here.”
They were about to leave when another girl approached their table, smiled shyly and said to Alice, “Alice? I don’t know if you remember me but we met at SheBar one time when my twin sister and I left with Shane.”
Alice nodded, even though it was clear that she didn’t recall seeing that girl at all. The girl continued, “Well, I just wanted to ask you guys if you heard what happened to Shane and Carmen?”

Place: Los Angeles, CA – The Planet
Year: Oct. 30, 2005 – Sunday
“What happened?” the girls asked all at once, while Bette and Tina stopped dead in their tracks on their way out.
“Oh my God,” the twin exclaimed, “Then you don’t know…there was some guy following Carmen everywhere and they needed to lure him out of hiding so Shane pretended to have affairs and she asked some of the girls she knew from her past to play the parts of her lovers. And my twin sister and I were among the chosen ones,” the girl finished proudly.
“Shit, was it Eric?” Tina asked, sliding back into the chair and telling Bette to sit down in the chair next to her, still holding her hand.
“Yeah, that’s the name,” the twin said, excited to be the center of attention. “We came to the house on Saturday with Shane and just fooled around, making all kinds of noises and then Carmen showed up earlier than she was supposed to and they staged a fight, and then we left and all I heard was that somebody got shot…it was so cool.”

Tina really does need to tell Bette about Christina, but Tina is part of Christina, so hopefully Bette will stay in the year 2005. She does not need to return to the 1880s.
That was great and poor Bette, a lot of thing for Bette to take in and let see how she react about Christina still alive. Please post more, thanks!

Do you come back and read comments after a few days? I am caatching up on reding, so this is not timely. I am also embarrassed that my comments are always so repetitive, but I think its because every chapter is the same–ingenious, poignant, funny and fascinating. The story’s threads are like marionettes and you are a master puppeteer.
