Out of Closet (B&T time-travel romance), Ch. 20
Alice sighed, realizing that there was no way out of this situation but the truth. ‘And the truth will set you free,’ she thought desperately, hoping that Bette would understand and especially hoping that Bette wouldn’t blamed her for Christina’s death.
“Well, I guess I should’ve assumed that you might notice something like that and it will be necessary for me to explain,” Alice began, still hesitating to tell the whole truth but she knew that it was time to quit stalling. “Yes, this is correct, there’s no mistake. It is the year 2005 right now…the twenty-first century. It appears that you were transferred more than 100 years into the future.”
Alice stopped there and patiently waited for Bette’s reaction. She was scared and relieved at the same time. Scared to find out what Bette will do after this admission, and relieved that she finally told the truth and was now ready to deal with the consequences of her actions.
Tina crouched outside the window, trying so hard to control herself from rushing into the room and taking Bette into her arms. But she knew that it could only worsen the situation if Bette didn’t believe Alice and won’t accept the truth that she was told. So she hid outside, listening and watching patiently, ready to do anything to change the situation for the better.
Bette stood motionless for a long time, trying to process the information that she had learned. For Alice, who was unaware of Bette’s mental activity, she appeared pretty serene after hearing such shocking news. If she could get inside Bette’s head at this moment, Alice would be completely surprised because in spite of the shock Bette did take the news rather calmly.
‘Well, from all of the events of today my brain probably became somewhat damaged or I would surely die as soon as I heard what Alicia had said. And I guess deep down I was prepared for something like that. How else could I explain all the changes and innovations…unless it is a dream…surreal and strange but dream nonetheless? And according to Alicia…it’s definitely not a dream.’
Bette slowly returned to bed where Alice was sitting and sat down, finding some comfort in the soft covers and the scent she noticed before. She looked at Alice and smiled weakly. Alice returned the smile but continued to keep quiet, giving Bette a chance to think and process this shocking information.

It begins again!!! Great Update!!! :)
Oh B&TF, you can’t be serious…you’re not leaving us like this???? I’ll never be able to wait for the next update! Absolutely fabulous update B&TF…you are really nailing this story. I can’t wait for their continued conversation.
Even in the past, present and future the connection is/will still there.
Love this, love this, love this !!!
That was great and glad finally they meet and talk, they are so cute, Alice is so funny. Please post more, thanks!
Finally they talked without Bette fainted! lol… alway enjoy reading your story, another great update. Please post soon.
Oh god… Here we go. They are indeed in so much trouble! LMAO at Alice’s silliness and at Bette’s boldness when she’s just met Tina. I love how Bette proceeds everything, and at this point, it looks like her brain is gonna fry in no time. And I don’t know if it will be out of trying to process things or just because of Tina’s effect on her… Hmm, I think I have the answer to that. This was great, B&TF, and somehow, I’m not that surprised that Bette took the news so calmly. For one, she really trusts Alice (much more than if she’d lived in our century, LOL!). And second, it seems that because of her numerous readings and her father’s education, she’s become a very curious and open-minded woman. Anyway, this went pretty great and I’m looking forward to seeing where this is all going between Bette and Tina. Their connection already seems different than the one she had with Christina, and it makes sense that she discovered her attraction to a woman (and not any woman) with Christina, and then falls in love with 21st century’s Tina… Okay, i’ll shut up now. Thanks for the update, and I’ll only forgive you for delaying the next chapter if it means that your next post will be the secret agents one… ;) K.
I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited about the coming chapters, Hee hee hheee, Thank you so much, but T you can’t stop now when you are where we wanted you to be from a long time ago. Come back soon, don’t leave us like that hanging please T. Love
What a great last line!!!!
