    Recap,

This story began shortly after the end of season 4 (I know we *all* remember how *that* ended!!!) with Bette having just walked away from ending things with Jodi. Bette began by sitting on a beach in Brooklyn, deciding whether or not to call Tina. Luckily for me (otherwise the story would have been quite pointless) she did, and Tina was on her own beach in LA, at the end of a night out partying with the girls. They talked, all of which is too complicated to recap but Bette told Tina she was coming back and that she and Jodi were over. When Bette arrived, Tina and Angelica were there to meet her at the airport, Tina drove her home and then they had a ‘moment’ where Tina waited for an invite in, which came of course. Bette caught up on her sleep whilst Tina fixed them dinner (Bette’s favourite dish) and then they all sat down for a family meal. The chapter before the very last one left off with a kiss, followed by some touchy feely conversation where Tina admits to Bette some of the reasons why she left. The last chapter ended with Bette hearing all of this and then holding Tina close whilst she told her she was sorry.

The Planet, West Hollywood, Los Angeles.

    “I’m sorry …”

I stir the dregs of my cappuccino absentmindedly with one hand, my mind going over our dinner conversation from the night before; words I’ve been longing to hear for so long now, suddenly lost all their power. Apologies, regrets, confessions and admissions of guilt, all of them lost on me now, replaced by something bigger and more substantial, her words that she’s sorry.

I’m sorry too, but my sorrow is harder, darker. I tried explaining it to Alice, that Bette has it easier, but I painted her the monster many months ago now and it’s what they all understand. She cheated, and it’s on everyone’s mind to believe that that one simple act marked the start of our downfall.

It wasn’t until I left, until I took up root on Alice’s couch that I began to understand how we’d both left each other, months or maybe even years before. I started remembering the ways in which she tried her best to reach me, find me, catch me floating somewhere in the darkness that I used to shroud myself, hiding every inch of my being from her. Her power to explore me became all consuming, a raging daily fight in which I tried my best to not let her see the damaging thing I’d become.

    1. i like the character development in this one, and i especially like the whole bit about bette’s affair being the easiest thing for the group to blame for their breakout. how perceptive, really. now how bout some of that Ab Fab crossover goodness for us all? i’m looking forward to that chapter…especially if you write some more of Tina’s romance novel musings. hehe

    2. Yay! I’m glad to see this one back as well… they’re getting back on track at the right pace. I love how textured your writing is, sofa. Do post soon. Thanks!

    3. It’s spo great to see this story back, I’ve missed it. Thank you for coming back. So happy to see them trying to come back to each other. It will require wowrk but, they can do it with all the love in the world for each other and Angie. PPS

    4. Thanks for the update. This is such an appealing story, just love your dialogue. Looking forward to the next chapter to see what’s actually cookin’!

    5. Thanks for the recap, now I don’t have to be lost on this one. Actually, I seem to have come in at a good time, just when things are on the upswing evidently. I have to admit I find it highly ironic that helebette of all people is asking for a story to return, even if I agree with her.

    6. I have an idea. We will just conk ic on the head and let you be the new creator and big cheese behind the show. I know that you will take care of our girls better than she has ever done.
