    The one where we meet 17 year olds Tina Kennard and Bette Porter

    One and Only

    Chapter 1

    “Are you paying attention Ms Kennard ?”

    There was a nervous titter in the class as all eyes fixed on Tina Kennard who was sitting at the back of the class being as cheeky and disruptive as she did so well.

    Tina didn’t speak – not because she was scared of the teacher but more because she was more interested in her phone.

    “Ms Kennard “

    Another lack of reply from Tina finally prompted the boy sitting in front of her to turn round and say in a loud whisper

    “TINA “

    Tina looked from the phone to Jason the boy who had spoke to her

    “Well thanks Jason –  I was only 5000 from my best score on Angry Birds – idiot”

    “Mr Roberts is trying to get your attention “

    Tina stuck her tongue out at Jason and looked at the teacher

    “Yeah ? What ?”

    “Put your phone away until break time Ms Kennard “

    Tina shrugged and purposely went back to checking Twitter. Mr Roberts was getting close to breaking point with this particular 17 year old.

    “Either put the phone away or go and stand outside Mrs Beck’s office and you can explain why Angry Birds is more interesting than your education”

    “I would have thought that was obvious “ Tina said sarcastically “You suck”

    The class all laughed and Tina grinned

    “That’s enough – get out of this classroom and I will be along to deal with you later

    “I doubt it “ Tina said getting up and throwing her notebook and pen into her bag

    “See you all later suckers “

    She left the classroom, slammed the door behind her and as the class were all watching her through the glass pane of the door she stuck two fingers up, grinned and sauntered off out of the school. Instead of going to the headmasters office she ducked out via a side door and once she was a few feet away from the school she took a cigarette from her bag, lit it up and took several drags as she across the yard and headed out to take a walk around the city. School sucked – all of the stuck up pupils sucked and all she wanted to do was to be allowed to leave school and get a job  – any job and get away from her parents – well not both her parents  – just the draconian and bossy Emma Kennard.

    5. I am going to love it. Looks like “Is this love” but can`t be as Tina and Bette are at the same age and they were not in the other one. This is really exciting as I loved “Is this love”.

    27. Welcome back Ally! Finally we get to see the interaction between Tina and Kate Kennard. A teenage Bette and Tina, this story is just getting better and better.

    32. I have now re-read this story of Bette and Tina at School aged 17 and it is great. If you haven ‘t read it you should it leads on to Some Kind of Wonderful another great story as are all of Ally’s.
