    Tina talks to Kate and makes a surprising request

    ONE AND ONLY

    Tina had been in her room for most of the day – after a lot of tears she had managed to pull herself together and had just made herself a huge sandwich and settled down to get on with her homework. She had even revised for a test they were getting on Monday. After finishing her homework she wandered into the kitchen to see what food had arrived when the groceries had been delivered. She was eating a yoghurt while looking in the cupboard when her mother came in

    “Hey – you have been quiet all day ?”

    Tina looked at her mother “I have been sitting with my ipod on doing my homework”

    “Done ?”
    “Yeah “

    “So what are your plans now ?”

    Tina shrugged “I guess I will watch a movie “

    “How would like to go to the movies with your mom ?”

    Tina raised an eyebrow

    “You ?”
    “Emma is getting ready to go to a serious black tie event at the Law Society – its going to be as boring as its possible for these things to get and there are no guests – not that I would want to go to be honest. So how about I take my daughter to the movies and buy her dinner – a proper date ?”

    Tina smiled “What would you like to see ?”
    “Well I assumed that you are the person who knows exactly what is on at every cinema in a 5 mile radius “

    “I wouldn’t say 5 mile radius but I probably do – we could look at the cinema listings. Do you like Hitchcock movies ?”
    Kate smiled and shook her head “My first trip to the cinema with Emma on I think our second date was to see Vertigo – do you like Hitchcock movies ?”
    “I have never seen one all the way through. I switched my DVD off last night and there was the end of a Hitchcock movie on – the one where they are chased with the crop spraying plane”

    “North by north west “
    “I watched the end and I wish I had seen all of it”

    “And does that mean you would rather rent a movie and stay home ?”
    “No – the NYU cinema club has a open showing every Saturday – this month its Hitchcock”

    12. Really like this story. Impressed with Tina’s attitude towards sex (with Eric or Helena) and decision not to give in just because “everyone is doing it”. The only thing that bothers me is that I know your stories are very slow in development, so it’s probaly months before there is finally some action (if you know what I mean) between Bette and Tina. LOL
