Chapter 22
Bette was waiting for the drinks she ordered when somebody called her name.
“Bette?”
Bette looked away from the bartender and looked at the person who was calling her name.
“Nicole?” Bette said trying to verify that it is indeed Nicole.
“Bette, oh my, it’s nice to see you again!” Nicole said leaning to Bette for a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
“It’s nice to see you, too. How have you been?” Bette asked.
“I’m doing well. I pop back here every once in a while. Gosh, I never thought I’d see you again. So, tell me, how have you been?” Nicole asked taking Bette’s hand in hers.
Bette smiled. “I’m good. I’m actually just here for the weekend. It’s nice to see you.”
Tina was watching the interaction between Bette and the girl at the bar. She didn’t like the fact that the girl kissed and hugged Bette and now she is holding Bette’s hand. She stood up and headed to the two.
“Bette, do you have our drinks?” Tina asked Bette. Not bothering to check if she was interrupting a conversation.
“Hey, babe! Yeah, got it.” Bette said letting go of Nicole’s hand and taking Tina’s. “Hey, Tee. Do you remember Nicole?” Bette gestured towards Nicole.
“Tina? Tina Kennard?” Nicole said as she slowly recognizes Bette’s former roommate.
“Hi! Yeah, now I remember. How are you?” Tina politely asked.
“I’m good. Here for a bit of a vacation. I’ll be heading back to New York next week. That’s where I’m based.” Nicole replied.
“Really? What a coincidence, I’m currently working there too.” Bette replied. A bit too enthusiastically for Tina’s liking.
“Nice. Tell you what let me give you my card then let’s get-together when I get back. We have so much catching up to do.” Nicole said while handing her card to Bette.
“Sure thing. Here’s mine. It’s nice seeing you again, Nicole.” Bette smiled.
“You, too. You gals have a great night!” Nicole said before leaving the two alone by the bar.
“You remember Nicole, babe? I never thought I’d see her again.” Bette said to Tina while they were on their way back to the table.
“I do, Bette. I do remember her.” Tina said sternly.

That was very sweet. I can understand Tina getting a little insecure this is so new with her and Bette. I hope Bette convinced her how secure they really are. I hope Nicole is not looking for anything but friendship with Bette or she will get her feelings hurt. PPS

That was so sweet and tender…It’s so easy to get insecure of past relationships..especially when you ahve been there to witness it..but I love the fact that Nicole saw how in love Bette was and is with Tina. Thanks Bomb…you rock!!
