My Teenage Dream – Chapter Six

You have never said or hinted that you want me so, I know. It’s hopeless. It’s painful but I’ll learn to live with it.

What I will ask is to respect my feelings and try to understand. I will ask you to find happiness and don’t worry about hurting my feelings because your happiness is more important to me than anything else. I hope I made that clear.

So, this is the letter only I will read. I think this honestly the way I feel about you.

    Forever yours,

    Bette.

I have tears in my eyes. Bette loves me. Bette is in love with me. What do I have to do or say? Tell her I read the letter? Don’t tell her?

I sigh and sit on her bed. I take the pillow and hold it close to me, bringing my nose close to it. I love her smell.

I sigh and just think… Bette. She is my best friend, my buddy, the one that has my back, that’s all she is right?

    I sigh.

Maybe not but we can’t be more. I can’t do it. I want to be… normal. I don’t want to be the person everyone is gossiping about, that they find weird. Honestly, I want to be the perfect little straight girl. I know it sounds awful but I do. I just want to marry a man and have 2 or 3 kids. Be happy and normal. I don’t want to fight for the right to marry, I don’t want to struggle to adopt a child that my partner carried or that I carry and she has to adopt, I don’t want to fight against homophobes and I don’t want to be ‘strange’ or ‘other’. I want to have a simple, normal life.

But Bette is so amazing. I still remember it. The kiss we shared when we were about 13. I wanted to give her kiss on her cheek but she turned her head and our lips touched. Gosh, the feelings that coursed through me, that ecstatic feeling that made my head spin and my knees buckle. Our lips were joined together longer than a few seconds; we just stood there, enjoying the sensation. Then we bot pulled back a little, blushing. We said ‘let’s forget about it’ at the same time and both let out a nervous chuckle. I dreamed about that kiss many, many nights.

    1. oh Tina, I completely understand you, but I thhink you need a nice kick in the keister! Grow some balls woman don’t you see how loving and caring your family is? That’s the only opinion that matters, everyone else can rot in hellNow that my rant is over, awesome update PPS

    2. How long do we have to wait for Tina to give in?…if it’s 4 years of college…I think I’d have to hunt you down! LoL IMO – Tina won’t be able to hold back if B finds someone to date! She’ll have an attack of ab-“normal” proportions! Enjoying your writing – but need longer posts! (smiling)

    3. That’s ok little Tee, you’ll soon realize that Bette will be the only one that will truly love you forever. Not some punk ass who only wants to get in your pants. Poor Bette, hopefully she fights back and kicks those boy’s asses! PPS!

    4. IT is too much to take in such a young heart. Poor Bette, some kids can be pure cruel and violent. I can understand where Tina comes from, she want a normal family but she can never be happy with herself, ask me about it :(
