Masked Feelings CH 96 The Problem with Family
She didn’t get the full effect of the dreams, just abstract ideas of the reality that she couldn’t bear to face. It was still as painful, but manageable when she was in her waking hours. Sharon didn’t care to interpret her dreams and even if she did she’d know that her troubles were just starting. This hell that she was going through was real. The hints that were shown to her in these dreams were trying to tell her to deal with demons before she was devoured by them. Not just Sharon was going to be effect by her past.
Irwin had never known what had caused the rift with her parents and it’s not like she had siblings that he could ask. She said that it wasn’t a big thing, but if that was the case then why hadn’t she seen them in years. Sometimes he thought that the only reason she married him was to escape her parents. He did happen to come around at the right time and he did promise to take care of her. Somehow, she needed to be rescued but that changed real quickly when she felt more secure.
Sharon had this inner strength that no one could quite understand. She seemed rather vain, but this was more of a mask to the real problem. What other’s thought about her weighed too heavily on her mind and even more, it carried on to her own family. Sharon was an upstanding figure in the community and she was proud of her accomplishments. Her own daughter was shining in her own way. She was famous for god-sake and that alone made her proud. It’s unfortunate that there was that one thing she couldn’t live with… her thinking that she was gay. She was sure that Dana would change her way of thinking… or make sure she see the light with her own help. After all… you weren’t supposed to act on those kinds of feelings.. or so she was told.

Roxy felt as if she would’ve been better off being that prisoner back in that god-forsaken hell hole. The wind had kicked up and erased the tracks that she had been following. What started out as a hopeful journey out of the desert, turned into a horrendous sandstorm. She tried to find shelter when the wind first started to pick up, but it was hopeless. These things had a habit of coming on quickly. It was all she could do to protect her face from the stinging pain of the sand blasting her eyes. Roxy burrowed down against some brush.

Holy moly!! Welcome back, brteyes!! I am sorry to hear what a rough year you had and hope that your father continues to improve. As to the chapter… It doesn’t seem like the time off has caused you to lose any of your skills. I like that you were able to provide an update that kept the story moving with just enough info so I didn’t have to go back and re-read. Love the additional info on Sharon. I have to wonder if there is more to her objections to the marriage. Poor Roxy. Yes, I said it. I don’t know how you come back from an experience like she is going through. Marco is shaping up to be a fascinating character. Loved more background on Roxy and Erika. Thank you for continuing the story even though the last line of the chapter makes me feel a bit queasy. Oh! And congrats to you and Danalicious. ;-D
Well hello stranger, I was wondering if and when we would see you again :) May I say it’s lovely to have you back. I was more than a little excited when I saw an update to the story so I went back and read what I’ve missed! Im sorry to hear about you’re father and I really hope he continues to improve. I always think it’s lovely that you and Danalicious are together I really do :)Again Im so glad you’re back! I read the 3 chapters I need to catch up on and I have to say that the wait was worth it, I enjoyed every second of reading them. I have to say I am really intrigued by Marco and have a good feeling about him, am I right to or not? lol. I love the little bit of background your giving us with Roxy and Erika as well. Totally not suprised by Sharon’s reaction although Im dying to know what this secret is of hers!! Can I also say I don’t like the sound of the last line in this chapter, I take it David’s more than evil ways are going to come back into action with poor Alice and Dana soon enough … Ohhh!! Haha. Can’t wait to see another update when you’re able to give us one :D x
