    Roxy/Alice talk… Mommy dearest on Dana’s nerves…. Alice and Roxy visit with Dana…. and a little teaser.

    Her mother was coddling her and it was driving her insane. Finally she had to say something.

    Dana – Mom, I don’t need you to do every little thing for me.

    Sharon – That’s what I’m here for. You know what the doctor said. You’ll need help… it will be weeks til you get back to your normal routine, Honey.

    Dana – Some of those things you’re doing, I can do myself. If you want to stay, just sit down and talk to me.

    Sharon – I think you should come home with us til you get better. We’ll make up your room and you can stay as long as you like. I know a lot of people that would love to see you.

    Dana – I’m going to be here for awhile. We’ll talk about my plans later.

    Sharon – Speaking of plans… I know you’re not up to it right now, but there is someone that would like to meet you, my friend Gail…. her son, Thomas is a really nice young man…..

    Dana cut her off….

    Dana – Mom…. Mom!

    Sharon – Yes, dear?

    Dana – How many times do I have to go over this with you. I’m gay, Mom. I’m married already… to Lara.

    Sharon – That marriage isn’t considered legal in the eyes of God, Dana. You’re not gay…. it’s just a phase you’re going through.

    Dana – I know you love me, but this would be so much easier on the both of us if you weren’t in denial. Quit setting me up on these dates with men…. it’s a total waste of my time and yours. I’m not the only one in this family that’s gay….

    Sharon – What?!

    Dana – There you go, Howie….. consider yourself outed.

    Sharon – Howie, what is your sister talking about?

    Howie – Thanks, Dana. When I said I wanted your help….. this isn’t what I had in mind.

    Sharon started in on Howie while Dana sat back and grinned.

    Dana – Hey, Mom. Could you take that outside? I’m getting a headache and need my rest.

    Sharon – Of course, dear.

    Sharon drags Howie out into the hallway. Dana busts out laughing. It hurt to laugh, but it was worth it.

    10. Well actually, it wasn’t you who was mean, but is was the nurse. Why did she had to walk into the room?! :P After reading this chapter I see how good the storylines are entangled. Many times you made me wonder which direction you would take with this story. But after reading this chapter everything makes sense now. And the most beautiful thing is, the story keeps on going! Being Dutch and not having a big vocabulary in English I have to go for Dawsons’ words: You are brilliant! :D
