Bette takes the sleeping baby and carries her off to the bedroom.

Tina – I said I was afraid it might happen. I warned Dana that Alice was angry and it could mean trouble for her.

Lara – I hope you believe Dana is innocent.

Tina – I know she is but for some reason Alice thinks Dana raped her. I guess it didn’t help that she overheard us defending Dana. This only made Alice more angry. Now she is missing again and we can’t get it all straightened out. This whole thing makes no sense to me.

Lara – Personally, I could give a damn about Alice right now. Dana is going to need a good lawyer if Alice is determined to press charges. Can I count on you to help me find a good one?

Tina did her best to ignore Lara’s first remark.

Tina – I’m sure we can find one. What about bail?

Lara – I’m not sure how much for bail yet. Dana is going to have to spend the night in jail.

Tina – That’s horrible….. she must feel so alone. Confused about what will happen with her.

Lara – I know. I’m going to see if I can get in to see her. If I find out about bail, can you help me with that?

Tina – I’m always here to help my friends. You can count on me.

Lara – Thanks…. it means a lot to me…… a lot to us. Well I better go. I’ll call you in the morning and we’ll figure out the details.

Tina – Give Dana our love and tell her to hang in there. We’ll get her out.

Lara – I refuse to let her spend another night in jail. We’ll definitely get her out in the morning.

Tina – You sound pretty determined. Dana’s lucky to have you on her side.

Lara – I always get what I want…… some things are worth fighting for. Well, I’m sure Dana is wondering where I am. Bye, Tina.

Tina – Bye.

Lara leaves and Bette enters the room again.

Bette – Well….. what’s the story?

Tina – Dana was arrested, as you already know. We need to find her a good lawyer, Bette. This whole mess is going to blow up, if Alice doesn’t step in and stop it.
