    I love you

    Bette stood beside Liza’s crib, softly stroking the baby’s thick black hair.  She and Tina had always thought that having children would be such a wonderful way to complete their family that neither woman had ever considered what would happen if their relationship didn’t last.  They had often joked within their close circle of friends that they would be sitting on their porch in West Hollywood in rocking chairs watching their grandchildren grow up.  Their days would be occupied with family and friends and the memories of how wonderful their life’s had been because they had each other.  Their love story would be one for all time, having been tested but never broken.  Theirs would be a love that would serve as an inspiration to all who knew them.

     

    “Alice?’ Tina called from her bedroom.

     

    Taking a deep breath Bette left the nursery and went to Tina’s room.  Tina was on her side facing away from the door.

     

    “Al would you just sit with me for a while,” she whispered.

     

    Bette walked into the room and saw Tina reach her hand out toward who she thought was Alice.  She sat down gently on the edge of the bed and put her hand inside Tina’s palm.  Tina held her hand tightly and brought it down in front of her chest.  She suddenly realized that this was not Alice‘s hand; this was the hand that held her heart tighter than anyone else had ever been able to do.  This hand had touched her body and soul more times than she could remember.  She gripped the hand tighter and said softly, “Bette?”

     

    Bette slipped into bed behind Tina and pressed herself tightly against her back.  As her tears fell she began to kiss Tina’s neck and shoulder over and over again.  Lifting Bette’s hand to her lips Tina rained kisses all over its smooth surface.  Making sure that she did not loose contact with any part of Tina’s body, Bette slid her free arm underneath the pillow and pulled herself against her even tighter.  It was as if the two women were struggling to become one as Tina scooted back into Bette’s embrace.

     

    “What are we doing Bette?” Tina whispered softly. “Why do we keep hurting each other?  We couldn’t possibly destroy each other any worse if we tried.

    5. That is our loving B&T we all want to see. It looks like this is the only place we will see them like this too if last night was any indication. You did a great job writing the love scene–never would have known it was your first one. It was beautiful. Please keep posting.

    12. Thank for this respite because I am so pissed right now I could spit, or just fall into a well of wonderment and depression. What happened to Bette and Tina? WTF is Ilene Chaiken doing to her characters? …but, I digress. This is about your story – thanks for the flashback. I do wonder why B&T don’t have Liza in the room with them. I surely would have a newborn baby right under my nose (metaphorically speaking). Thanks!

    17. Oh my goodness! Good thing I am getting ready to go take a shower. I am going to make it a very cold one. This chapter was stimulating to say the least. Will you please write for the l word. Someone has to keep Bette and Tina together.

    18. That was amazing. Bette holding Tina on their anniversary and she’s reliving the first time they admitted their love to one another. That was tender, sweet, beautiful, sexy, but loving. Please post soon.
