    Tina reflects – The DA reflects – Bette’s blood will reflect…we’re heading to trial

     

    “Sounds terrific.  T?”

     

    “Yeah, babe.”

     

    “Are we okayare we – are you passed that speed bump?”

     

    Tina leaned down and kissed Bette gently on the lips.

     

    “We’re okay and yes, Ms. JumptoConclusions has left the building.”

     

    Bette smiled.  “Good because I’d like some serious kissing and holding after breakfast.”

     

    “You got it, babe, and lots of it.”

    Peggy Peabody had let quite some time go by since she heard on the news that Bette Porter had been attacked without calling to see how she was.  She also heard that she and Tina had their baby. 

     

    She thought it best to leave the two of them to their privacy and not have it intruded upon by any Peabody at this point in their lives. 

     

    A part of her was still very upset and concerned about what Helena did to Tina.  She was indeed worried about her daughter.   This was a part of Peggy that no one.NO ONE ever saw.   Only the briefest glimpse of it was shown to Tina in the gesture of mouthing, “I’m so sorry for this,” when she arrived at the apartment after the incident.

     

     

    Even though the doctor’s reports that have been sent to her as to Helena‘s progress indicated good things, Peggy still has this nagging feeling that her daughter has serious emotional problems.  So strong is this nagging feeling that the moment she heard the news of the attack on Bette, she called Helena at her apartment – just to make sure she was here in New York.  Helena answered and assuaged her fears, at least for now.

     

    She took out her cell phone now and called Bette.  She, of course, got her voicemail and left a message.   “I was wondering, dear, if it would be all right to visit you on my next trip to LA.  I would love to meet the new addition to your family.   Also, if you have time, I would like to discuss something with you.   Please call me at your convenience.”

     

    Peggy liked Bette Porter from the moment she met her.  She was intelligent, talented, beautiful, strong , possessed presence and  just the right amount of pluckiness to not let anyone walk all over her.

    8. Very strong statements Nancy made…well done. I for one agree that Peggy Peabody has always viewed Bette as the daughter she would have wanted. I think that’s why Helena cannot stand Bette. Thanks for this chapter.
