A Week later

“Yeah Carmen I know. You are living on the east coast it is bound to be cold”

“I’m just used to the LA weather. The sun hardly shines here”.

“Awe, then come back home”

Carmen sighed. “Al, I’m really enjoying myself. I do like it here, and I’ve just been offered a contract extension.”

“Wow really that’s awesome!” Alice was so happy for her, just a little upset that she was across the country. “How long for?”

“They’ve asked me to stay for another 6months..”

“6months!!” Alice interrupted.

“6months, which means a wage increase as well. Its really going well for me here please be happy.”

Alice mentally cursed herself. “Of course I am happy, I’m over the moon. We are all just missing you here.”

“I know I miss you guys as well. But I want to do this”.

“Then do it. We all support you. And with The chart growing in size I may come out for a vacation”.

“I will look forward to that. So how is everyone?”

“Everyone is good. Jenny’s book has finally been published, so she is about to embark on a book tour.”

“Wow”

“Yeah I know it’s amazing. Bette is well Bette, her job is keeping her on her toes and I think she may be seeing someone; she is being really sly about it. Actually to tell you the truth now I’ve thought about it, Tina is as well.”

“Oooo! Do you think they are back together?” Carmen asked grinning

Alice frowned “I think Bette is seeing someone from the College, I don’t know. I will interrogate them later, I have a plan”.

Carmen laughed at Alice’s antics. “So what about Helena? How is the room situation?”

“Helena is good; I think not having money to waste is making her a better person. I mean before she thought money bought friendship but now she is learning the true value of friendship. It looks like she has had a massive weight lifted off of her shoulders. And she is still living with me, and it’s not as awkward as people expected. She is a great roomie.”

“That’s good.” Carmen paused, not knowing whether or not to bring up the next person, but she knew she had to ask. “And Shane? Have you heard from her?” There was no answer. “Alice?”
