New York the next evening
“All lives end. All hearts are broken. Caring is not an advantage.”
Tina rolled her eyes, shaking her head, and then turned away from Kate Arden to rest against the wall and survey the bar.
“That’s it? That’s your vision for this film?” The blonde raised the martini glass to empty it, and then popped the olive into her mouth. “A quote from Steven Moffat? That’s all you have? Really?”
She set it down, heaved a sigh, and pushed the glass away from her. She leaned her head against the wall and shut her eyes.
“C’mon, sleepyhead! Can’t you at least pretend that you’re halfway interested in helping me out?”
Tina reluctantly opened her eyes and slid a glance at Kate, who’d turned away from her already to study various sections of the bar. It was about five deep at the opposite end of the bar, where the handsome bartender with a set of tight buns was fielding orders. Without looking at Tina, Kate added, as she observed the various group types trooping into the bar, “Just because you’ve become William’s favorite exec doesn’t mean you can forget how to be a producer, you know. One of the best, I’ve ever worked with, by the way.”
Tina chuckled. “Exactly, Miss Arden. I’m a big shot now, don’t you realize that? I’ve got people who have people who do this stuff. I do help run a money-making studio by day, you know.”
It was enough to provoke Kate to flash an irate glance at her. “Well, Ms Kennard, you’re not so big that you can afford to irritate me, in case you didn’t realize it. You’ve got to hit the streets from time to time. See the world from the ground up. Get your creative juices flowing. Plus, if you want the gotta-have female director of the moment, you best give me what I want!”
Tina shook her head and waved Kate’s pretend growl off. “You won’t drop this project. You love it too much. And you love me, so you’ll never abandon any project that you know is important to me …”
She straightened up and swiveled on the bar stool to push the empty martini glass forward, raising her hand up to try to catch the eye of the busy bartender’s attention. “And it’s Porter-Kennard, remember? You were at my wedding, in case you forgot. You were crying your eyes out, if I recall correctly.”

is chapter is painful, Tina was again unfaithful, I hope for the next face that Tina be honest with Bette and Bette are angry and disappointed, I hope Bette took time alone to think about their marital future, I hope Tina suffer and drag to order forgiveness for having sexual desires for women and never stopping to kiss that whore !!! Tina has to suffer its consequences and this story made me nervous, I’m looking forward to your next chapter, thanks for today
I will be interested how you play this with Bette and Tina. There hasn’t been very much romance for Tibette in a long time. They need to reconnect and take care of their marriage. Thanks, enjoyed it
This is turning into “Love Out of Control.” I think Dan Foxworthy is going to have his hands full with Tina once again. She needs to figure out why? Why again? I was particularly drawn to the line, “…you live in New York! You can’t avoid bumping into gorgeous people here. It’s a giant candy store out there, and you must run into all manner of eye candy all the time… ” It made me think that while everyone enjoys a little candy every now and then, it has very little nutritional value. Tina seems like the type who chooses things that nourish her. She’ll figure it out.
I’ve got to find this lesbian bar you so vividly described. It sounds like its definitely worth the price of admission.
You hit all the senses again…strawberry-flavored gloss, honeysuckle scent, warm pliant tongue, pulsing beat, daring outfits. You put me right in the scenes again.
BTW, you’ve teased us long enough, I’m dying to read about Bette’s golf outing. Bring it on!
Yes sky when you said drama well what can say. I feel bad for Kaci but I’m glad Tina stopped from letting it go any further….
When i asked more B&T time, this was not what i expected :-( . Thank god Tina stopped the kiss , but she seemed to kiss back and that is not good. I know that you can be acctracted to other people while you are in a happy secure marriage, but she is/ was playing with fire.
My heart breaks for Bette, she doesn’t deserve this. Tina has to come clean. It was Kaci who started the kiss to distract the guys attention but it was Tina who kissed back. Fuck what a mess.
And Lena is that the same woman Bette is after for the foundation?
