Los Angeles Present day

Bette, Tina, Dana, Alice and Shane were all getting ready for their first day back at school tomorrow, which really meant they were getting wasted at Shane’s house while talking about what they did in the holidays.

Shane: “So Alice i see that you and Dana have finally got together at last. You think your relationship will end up as good as Bette’s and Tina’s ?”

Alice look at Dana and then at Bette and Tina as they embrace each other with loving arms on the couch and looking into each others eyes. Then replies

Alice: “i sure hope not i’ll probably puke all over myself if i act that lovey dovey.” Alice then starts to laugh at what she said, but stops when she realises no one else finds it funny.

Both Bette and Tina give Alice the ‘evils’ , while Alice tries to figure out what she did wrong. 

Alice: “What?” looking more confused then ever.

Bette then quickly changes the subject in order to prevent a fight by saying,

Bette: So shane when are you going to find someone to go steady with?

Shane kinda shocked by the question, since everyone knows she’s a player and not someone who goes for just one girl, replies,

Shane: I’m only seventeen what makes you think i want to be with only one girl. i’m still young and therefore i need variety.

They all begin to laugh at that statemant and Bette replies,

Bette: One of these days the love of your life will walk right past you and you won’t even realise because you will be too busy chating up some other girl.

Shane took Bette’s words to heart wondering to herself,  Maybe she’s right, maybe i’ve already missed the love of my life, while tring to find the next person i want to jump into bed with. Shane then realised everyone was looking at her and waiting for a response, so she quickly put on a brave face making it seem that Bette’s words didn’t affect her and replyed,

Shane: “now Bette don’t be jelious just cause you can’t jump into bed with any women you want to anymore”

Bette: ” oh what ever Shane i have all i need right here in my arms” and Bette starts to star lovingly into Tina’s eyes, making Shane even more envious of their relationship. 

For the rest of the night as the others keep chating on and on about school the next day all that is going on in Shane’s mind is, have i missed my chance at true love?

Meanwhile on the other side of the world in a country called New Zealand:

A blonde women shouts: “Come on Lisa we’re going to miss our flight if you don’t hurry up”

Lisa then comes running out of the house, her redish brown hair blowing aginst her perfectly tanned skin as she struggles to carry her two suitcases towards the car. 

Lisa: Mum why do we have to go all the way to Los Angeles for you to get a job, there are pleanty of jobs right here in New Zealand.

Lisa’s Mum: look we have been over this a million times, im a lawyer and none of the big cases are in New Zealand, i need to broaden my career and the only place to do that is America.

Lisa: Mum New Zealand is where i was born, its is where my home is, where my family is and where my friends are. can you please just change your mind?

Lisa’s Mum: Look its too late now Lisa our flight is in two hours and out furniture has already been boarded onto the plane. We need to leave now! i’m sorry that you have to leave your friends and your school but you will meet new friends.

Lisa sees the look in her mum’s eyes telling her ’we are going and thats, that’ so Lisa gives in and loads her suitcases into the car and they head off to the airport in silence.

At the Airport:

After going through customs both Lisa and her Mum head towards their gate where they board the plane. Through all the time at the airport Lisa had been giving her Mum the silent treatment until her Mum couldn’t take it any longer.

Lisa’s Mum: Look lets make a deal you stop giving me the silent treatment and when we arive in Los Angeles the first thing we will do is buy two cars one for me and…. one for you.

Lisa’s face lights up at the thought of having a brand new car and she automatically falls for the bribe and quickly beings talking to her mother again.

Soon their plane takes off from the air and both Lisa and Shane are oblivious to the fact that their paths will soon cross in a hurricane of fate.
