Carmen got up out of Shanes bed and let Shane sleep. She walked out of the room and went to the bathroom. She went to the bathroom and washed her hands. She opened the door and bumped into Jenny.

Im so sorry. Jenny said softly.

Its alright. I should watch where Im going next time. They stood there in awkward silence. Carmen wrapped her arms around Jenny and hugged her.

Im still here, you didnt lose me. Im still your friend. Jenny closed her eyes and tear dropped.

I know, its so hard. But I can manage. Jenny sniffed and pulled away. She looked at Carmen one last time and headed into the bathroom. Carmen pushed her hair out of her face and took a deep breath. She walked back into Shanes room to get her clothes. She grabbed her clothes and put them on. She started to head for the door, but she heard a voice.

Hey, where you headed? Shane said. Her hair going every which way. Carmen had to smile and walked over to the bed.

Im gonna head home and get cleaned up, and Ill be back.

Alright, dont take long. Shane smiled. Carmen leaned over and kissed Shane.

Ill see ya later love. She got up and walked out the door.

Carmen made it to her apartment and saw Marias car. Oh great. She thought. She walked up the steps and unlocked the door. She walked in and saw Maria, sitting on the couch. Her eyes red and puffy and her hair a mess.

Whats wrong Maria? She knew exactly what was wrong with her sister, but she wanted to her what she had to say.

I know whats wrong. I should of listening to you. Shane walked out on me on our date last night. She didnt even explain why. Im such an idiot.

No, youre not. Shane is really hard to figure out, but you know. You guys can still talk and be friends.

I really dont think that Shane and I should be friends. After what she did last night, I dont even want to see her. Carmen smiled to herself, but still felt bad for her sister.

Just rest and forget about last night. There are a lot of girls out there. Youll be fine. She kissed her sister on her forehead and headed to her room.

Shane, Dana, Alice, Jenny, and Bette were laughing and having a good time. Shane lit herself a cigarette and took a drag. The door knocked, and Shane got up and got it. She smiled when she saw Carmen and gave her a hug. Her smile went away when she saw Maria right behind her. But when she pulled away from Carmen, she put that smile back on her face.

I didnt think you were going to make it. She moved away from the door and let them in. The girls exchanged hellos and sat down.

Did you guys want anything to drink? Shane asked.

Ill take a beer. Carmen said.

Yeah, me too. Said Maria. Shane got up and walked into the kitchen. She opened up the refrigerator and grabbed two beers. She stood up and close the door and felt arms go around her waist.

I missed you. She turned around and her face fell.

I miss you too. Maria said. Shane moved her arms from around her. She turned to walk out of the kitchen, but Maria stopped her.

Maria, I cant do this. Your sister and I are together again. Theres no room for you. Lets just be friends. Maria started to tear up.

So thats all I was to you. Was a fling? I thought we could have had something. I guess I was wrong about you.

Im sorry Maria, I dont know what else to say. Im sorry. She sat a beer down and walked out of the kitchen and back into the living room. She sat next to Carmen and gave her a beer. She lit her cigarette back up and took a drag. She wrapped her arm around Carmen and kissed her. Maria came into the living room and sat next to Jenny. They begin to talk. Maria would sneak looks over to Shane. Shane would catch Maria looking at her, but look away. The girls had a good time until Alice came up with an idea.
