Chapter 78:

Tina is done with her class and hurries back to her place to meet Bette.  They decide to order sandwiches from Tina’s favorite deli for lunch.  The afternoon is filled with their usual light hearted banter, though Tina notices Bette is somewhat quiet.  When Tina cracks a joke and Bette’s smile isn’t as radiant as it usually is. Tina immediately knows something is bothering her.

“What is it B?  Whatever it is, I can handle it, I promise.  We can handle it.”

“Tina nothing is wrong.”

“Oh now I know that’s a lie because you only call me Tina when something is wrong.  So spill it Porter.”

“And you only call me Porter when you’re trying to be all alpha T on me, cuz you know that shit turns me on.”  Bette said with a smile.  This one reached her eyes so now Tina is totally confused.

“Bette, what the hell is up with you?  You are acting a little off.”

Bette wanted to immediately put her beloved’s mind at ease.

“Tina, I thought about what you said in all of your messages and what you said this morning and I have come to a realization.  I love playing ball, but that love doesn’t come close to what I feel for you.  You deserve to have a strong and resolute girlfriend by your side.  You deserve a woman who makes up her mind and sticks to her goals no matter how hard things may get.  The Bette Porter who is wrapped up in her ego is no longer relevant.  I need to ask you a very important question, Tina and I want to do it right.  So for now just know that we will have a very serious conversation soon.  And when that day comes, I hope you will finally know with all your heart that I will always choose you.  In the game between love and basketball, love will always be my choice. You will always be my choice.” Bette concluded exhaling after her admission.

Tina did not know what to say.  She was so happy that warm tears started to stream down her cheeks.  She jumped up and threw her arms around her girlfriend.  She began to pepper Bette’s face with kisses before going for her sweet lips for a slow sensuous lip lock.  Bette opened her mouth to receive Tina’s soft demanding tongue and they both moaned at the intensity of the kiss.  Their kisses are always good, but this seems different.  More intimate, if that is even possible.  Their love has reached a new plateau and they both felt it manifested in this one kiss.  After a few minutes they pulled apart when they needed air.  Tina was the first to speak.
