Tina left her boyfriend to party like a rock star because he did not want to leave yet. He was so psyched that he was  actually at one of Bette Porter’s famous parties, that he called her a cab and told her to call him when she reached Desi’s. 

Desi heard the cab pull up and she immediately ran down to let her best friend in.

“Hey boo. What’s going on?” Tina said as she saw her friend.

“Hey you. Come in.” Desiree led Tina to her room so they could talk.

“So tell what happened?  You and Bette seemed to be having a great time dancing and enjoying yourselves.  What changed?”

Desiree thought about what to tell Tina ever since she got her text earlier.  If she told Tina the real reason she broke up with Bette, Tina would feel awful.  She may even get mad at Bette and want to confront her.  Tina doesn’t appreciate anyone hurting someone she cares about.  She’s has a very nurturing nature and she isn’t afraid to stick up for Desi in any situation.  It felt good knowing that  Tina was there for her, but if Bette and Tina are going to end up together, she does not want to add any drama to their relationship before it gets going.  Plus they are team mates and she didn’t what to interfere with their on  court chemistry.  Desi, was pretty sure Bette wanted Tina but how does Tina feel?

“Well, you know how you tried to warn me about Bette’s reputation a few months ago?  I told you that I liked her and you said she didn’t  seem to be able to be faithful to just one girl and that I would end up getting hurt?” 

Tina nodded.  “So who is it?  Is it Karen from the team?”


“What?”

“Well, I was looking for you at the party and when I looked up Bette and Karen were doing the forbidden dance to Candy Shop!”

‘Well, well, well Bette was not broken up for more than an hour and she is already moving on to the next one? wtf Bette! And what about Tina?!! Oh boy, this could get ugly’

“Tina I have to ask you a question, ok?”

“Yeah, Desi”

“How do you feel about Bette?”

‘huh? I did not see that coming. Isn’t this supposed to be about her and Bette?  Why is she asking me this? Did she see me staring?’

“What do you mean, Desi? I mean Bette is my team mate. Other than that I don’t really know her up close.  What I do know I hear from everyone else because she has so many adoring fans.” She said as she put fans in air quotes.

Desi chuckled.

“Ok. I guess what I really am asking is, if you were not in a relationship with Eric, would you be interested in Bette?”

‘Damn Desi, that’s the fucking million dollar question!’
