Tina was at Alices house, she was a nervous wreck. She could not believe that she was about to marry Bette Porter. She felt that she was the luckiest woman in the world. She could not stop shaking. She heard a knock on the door, she knew it was Alice. Come in she called. Alice walked in, Tina, are you okay? We really need to be heading over to your place, we don’t want you to be late for your own wedding. What else do you need to do? Tina started to laugh, she looked down at her robed body.
Tina: it is not what else I need to do, Al, it is what have I done, and the answer is nothing, I am a train wreck, can you please help me get ready? I want Bette’s heart to skip a beat when she sees me.

Alice smiled at Tina, trust me, it will, it will Tina.

***Meanwhile at Bette and Tina’s house***

Bette: Kit, have we heard from Dad I know he does not approve but I hope he shows up for a minute or two.

Kit: now baby sis, you know Melvin, he hates to be out of control, and on this he is indeed out of control, don’t hold your breath and don’t be disappointed.

Bette: I know, but he seems to love Tina. I just hope he shows Hey Kit, are the caterers here?

Kit: yes, they are setting up behind the pool, the back yard looks divine. You, little sis, are very lucky, I think Tina is a wonderful woman. Take care of her.

Bette: I will Kit, and thank you so much for being here. I know we have had our ups and downs, but it is important to me that you are here on this precious day.

Kit: Bette, I would not miss this for the world. You and Tina are going to be so happy.

Bette: we are I am so lucky.

*** Back at Alice’s***

Tina emerges wearing a beautiful white dress, with her pearl necklace and earrings that Bette sent over to her earlier in the day. Together, Alice and Dana walk to Alice’s car for the short drive to their house. Tina is so nervous, she can not seem to stop wringing her hands. Alice looks over at her, Tina, relax, you and Bette are perfect for each other this is a match made in heaven, I am so happy for both of you.

***The Ceremony***

Bette is standing at the front of the altar, waiting for Tina. She looks incredible in her solid black pantsuit with the matching jacket and her silver heart necklace that Tina had given her. She looks down the aisle and sees Tina, she takes a deep breath as she takes in all of Tina’s beauty. She reaches for Tina’s hand, and mouths the words you look beautiful baby Tina holds Bette’s hands tightly, and smiles back at Bette.

The woman performing the ceremony is a friend of Alice’s. Heidi begins the ceremony.

Heidi: we are gathered here to witness the joining of these two women. They have asked you here, their family and friends, so you can observe the exchanging of their vows and rings as they make a life commitment to one another. Bette and Tina have written their own vowsKBette

Bette: (taking Tinas hand in hers) T, you came into my life so unexpectedly, I remember the day I met you. I was in utter awe of your beauty, you left me speechless. A year later, I am still in awe of your beauty and you still leave me speechless. I love so much about you, your beauty, your grace, your gentleness. Tina, I am honored to be able to spend my life with you, I love you Tina Kennard. Now and forever.

Tina: Bette, when I met you, you woke up so many hidden emotions. The feelings that I have for you are impossible to put into words. You are my yesterday, my today and my tomorrow. I will do everything to make our life happy and blissful. You are my life Bette. I love you very much Bette Porter.

Heidi: with their vows to each other complete, Bette and Tina will now exchange rings. Bette please repeat after meKTina with this ring, I pledge to you my undying love, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in heath, until we are parted by death.

Bette repeats her lines, and places the ring on Tinas very shaking finger.

Heidi: Tina, please repeat after me Bette with this ring, I pledge to you my undying love, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in heath, until we are parted by death.

Tina repeats her lines, and places the ring on Bette’s finger.

Heidi: Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present to you, Bette and Tina, partners for life. Bette you may kiss your bride.

Bette leans into Tina, she wipes the tears from her eyes and whispers in her ear, I love you T.

Their first kiss was a very passionate one. They pulled away, and Tina smiled at Bette, I love you too, baby

Kit is the first to arrive, congratulations guys, I am so happy for you. Now lets go party!!!

Melvin steps up behind Bette,I hope that this, relationship with Ms. Kennard makes you happy Bette. (he leans in for a hug)

Bette: oh Daddy, it already has. Thank you for being here.

Melvin: you are my daughter, your happiness is important to me.

The party went on all night. Tina and Bette’s first dance was to Eric Clapton’s You look wonderful tonight throughout the whole dance, Bette kept telling Tina how happy she was, and how much she loved her. Sweet kisses passed between them. The night moved on both women very happy and so in love.
