Shane had stayed holding a sobbing Andie in the hallway. When the weeping had slowed to quiet sniffles, Shane helped lift Andie up and brought her into her apartment. She pulled off Andies shoes and lied Andie down onto the bed. There she wrapped her arms around Andie and rocked her until Andie finally fell asleep. When Shane knew for sure that she wouldnt wake Andie up from moving, Shane slipped from the bed and sat down in the chair that was next to the sofa. She watched Andie sleep quietly and thought of what happened to Andie and her sister. The curvaceous woman on the sofa bed seemed to be sleeping deeply, but not peaceful. Shane was amazed and so impressed by Andies strength. The story of how she got the scars was so heartbreaking, but also showed Shane just how courageous Andie was. Some of the things that Andie had divulged to her, reminded Shane of her own past. She wondered if Andie would ever find peace with herself. How can I help her? Shane thought. She wanted to wake Andie up and tell her that Raes death was not her fault. That Rae knew that she loved her more than anything, just by how she stood up to Gary for Rae. But she knew that she would need to be the silent listener. Andies face seemed so distressed even as she slept. Shane got off the chair and squatted next to the sofa bed and brushed the hair out of her eyes. Shane couldnt understand how she was feeling when she was with Andie. She feltwhole. Alice began to think that she had done the exact thing she had been trying to make sure wouldnt happen to Andie. And that was hurt her. Alice couldnt bear with the thought that Andie was hurting. She dialed Shanes number on her cell phone. Hello. Shane answered quietly. Hey Shane, any word from Andie? Alice asked. Yeah, shes here asleep. Shes ok, Al. Shane whispered. Good. She stretched and looked at the sofa bed to find Andie gone. Shane blinked and looked around. Then saw a piece of paper on the bed. Shane picked it up and began to read it. Dana and Alice both jumped and began to push their clothing back into place. Andie just grinned when Dana scrambled to get to the door. I should get back out there to ummm, Tina. Dana babbled and then fell into the door. Okay, Ill be out there in a minute. Alice said wiping her mouth slightly. Hi Andie. Dana said embarrassed. Hey *****.
