Life with Mom and Tina Ch 86

"Yeah." Shannon said. Angelica had managed to make her way around the table to Jess.

"Jess. What do you think?" Shannon asked after excepting everyone congratulations.

Jess pretended not to hear her. The table slowly went quiet.

    "Jess?" She asked again.

"Congratulations that’s really cool." Jess said obviously lying.

"Is that what you really think or are you just saying it to appease everyone?" Shannon asked.

Jess looked at everyone before answering.

"Okay so maybe I don’t think its cool but………………Never mind. We have to go. We have a team meeting in an hour. Probably to talk about you." Jess said handing Angelica to Bette.

Everyone watched Jess and Laurie leave. Laurie held Jess’s hand until they got to the car.

"What was wrong with her?" Kit asked.

"She has been going through some things lately." Tina said.

    "Like what?" Bette asked.

"Like things she told me in confidence and I just regained her trust and I am not about to break it." Tina said.

    "Okay." Bette said.

"Now I feel bad. Maybe I shouldn’t have said Yes." Shannon said.

"It’s not you. I promise. She just thought she was finally going to be on her on and now she isn’t. She will go over it. It has more to do with me than it does with you." Tina said.

"All right then." Shannon said. She knew that Tina was probably correct.

    Jess’s Car

"What’s the matter babe?" Laurie asked.

    "Nothing." Jess said.

"It’s not nothing. Now come on tell me." Laurie said rubbing Jess’s hand that was resting on the arm rest.

Jess looked at her and smiled.

"I thought was going to be able to be on my own for once, and now I am going to have Shannon looking over my shoulder at everything. And she can’t keep anything to herself. She tells Mom everything." Jess said.

"Maybe she won’t be like that." Laurie said.

Jess looked at her in disbelief.

"Okay so she is very nosy and a loud mouth but she has kept your secrets before." Laurie said.

"I know. It’s just that with us living in the same house as us she is going to know way more than she has before." Jess said.

"Wasn’t it you who always said that you have to look at the positive." Laurie said.

"What are you getting at?" Jess asked.

"It’s just that you were worried about leaving your family, and now your big sister is going to be living with you. Isn’t this what you wanted." Laurie said.

"It’s what I wanted 4 months ago, but when Mom left I realized I would be fine without her." Jess said.

"You weren’t all right and you know it." Laurie said.

"Okay I wasn’t but I survived and it didn’t kill me like I thought it would." Jess said.

"You have me there." Laurie said.

"Okay let’s go get this over with." Jess said.

"All right can I have a kiss first." Laurie said. Jess leaned over and planted one on Laurie’s cheek. "That’s the not the kind of kiss I was talking about." She said.

"Well that’s all you are going to get until later." Jess said getting out of the car. Laurie quickly followed her. Jess put her arm around her and they walked in together.

    1. hey charm i agreed with stormy but that is life and this is your story so we have to live with what/how you do things. i love this story please post soon! we really do miss you not posting as much as you use too.

    2. Glad that you are back from your trip to the woods. Jess seems to have some major issues when it comes to Bette and having to be second fiddle. I hope that is able to work those issues out. Her and Tina use to be really close and Jess adores Angelica. Hopefully those two can set the pace for the whole family coming together.

    3. Ok, you know I love your story! But, I’m really not feeling Jess right now. She’s got a major chip on her shoulder and really needs to get over herself. Hopefully, things will work out.

    4. thanks for this great treat from you with two post. one question is Jess bipolar? cause she change of mood in seconds and sometimes i don’t understand her but i think you have you way to handle it, anyway i love your story and is good to read that B&T had a little time alone they needed it. Take care

    5. Jess is one whiny girl. Is she ever happy? I really like your story, but I think Jess needs to get over herself. I mean every older child gets less attention when younger ones come along. That’s just life!

    6. Jess has been having a lot of problems and some of it stems from Bette being lost and jess seems to have lost the connection with the rest of the family and could not talk about it. She lost her father, then Bette presumed dead. I thought she and Tina would have felt very deeply that Bette was not deceased because of the very close relationship they shared when it was just the three of them. You did not talk about that in depth. Jess needed someone desperately since Bette was gone and no one seemed to recognize that fact. She did not have the nurturing because deep pain and no one, especially Tina did not rcognize it.My opinion only. Thanks for two great chapters back to back.

    7. Nice story =) I kind of feel that Jess is becoming strangely demanding. She needs to start realizing that they are a family and that not everything can go her way all time. strange kid, love the story =)

    8. Yeah I agree with the others. Jess is really disconnected and I personally have no clue what is going on. Any chance of finding out what happened during the retreat?

    9. Jess seems to be taking one step forwards and 2 steps backwards. She had just told Shannon that she would try to start opening up to her family and not holding things in so much. In addition I think that Shannon should be the the one that she should be reaching out to because of their similar interest and closeness in age. Perhaps she has never really gotten over the fact that Shannon is her sister (and yes that is a long shot). Jess has too much support and love around her for her to be acting like she ia all alone in the world or have a chip on her shoulder. Come on Jess, act your age or GROW UP. You have younger siblings that are looking to you as an example and for leadership, share the love and look at the positive :o)

    10. Hey Charmed, Another interesting chapter although I would have liked to read more about Jess and Tina’s retreat and bonding sessions. Seems like this may be provided as the gals both chat to their respective partners. As for Nay Nay’s return to the house, seems that Jess over-reacted a bit and needs to chill out and see how it goes. Laurie is a great girlfriend and sounding board so Jess should trust her judgement. Now what on earth will happen next. I can’t wait. Thank you so much for continuing this wonderful tale with heartfelt emotions and fear. Wicked!!! Your Loyal Fan.
