Life with Mom and Tina Ch 64

    Previously:

“Jess we are going to have a family meeting tonight so you need to come as soon as practice is over.” Bette said.

    “But Mom.” Jess argued.

“No buts. Please come straight home alone. Hopefully it won’t take long and then you can go back out until curfew.” Bette said.

“Okay, I have to go.” She said and ran back onto the field.

Jess walked in the front door. She was still wearing her practice uniform. The rest of the family were sitting in the living room.

“Sorry I am late, but practice ran over.” She said.

    “Have you eaten?” Tina asked.

“No, but I’m not hungry.” She said and sat down on the couch opposite the chairs that Bette and Tina were sitting in.

“Okay well lets get the meeting under way.” Bette said she put Shannon on speaker phone.

    “What’s up?” Jess asked.

“Well we are going to change are schedule around here a little bit.” Bette said.

    “Oh God.” Jess said.

“Hey now. Lets don’t start.” Tina said.

“Agreed” Shannon said over the speaker phone.

“Starting tomorrow Ian and Teddy will start two different after school programs.” Bette said.

“That’s not that big of a deal. Why did I have to be here?” Jess asked. she wished she was with Laurie at her house with no parents.

“It does involve you. From now on you will be bringing Ian and Angelica home with you after practice.” Bette instructed.

“Wait I have to do what. That’s not fair. I won’t have any free time to do anything else.” Jess said.

“Yes you will. We are going to extend your curfew from 8 to 10 on school nights and from 11 to 12 on weekends.” Tina said.

“I will pick Teddy up after school and take to the art program at Art College.” Bette said.

“Why can’t Mama pick up Ian and Angelica?” Jess asked with attitude.

“Because I am going to be longer hours.” Tina said.

    “Why?” Jess asked.

“Because I got a new job as a studio head for a relatively small studio.” Tina said.

“That means that we are all going to have to help out more around here for awhile.” Bette said.

    1. I can see what jess is saying but I think that she is the one that can help them though this please post soon can’t wait to see what happens next great update

    2. Charmed, Finally JEss told her mothers how exactly things are. It was a bitter pill to swallow but at least Tina seems to have realized the truth behind it. I am sure that she can get Bette to admit to their failing and then build a new relationship will all of their children. Time is the most important thing that you can give your kids but the second is to listen to them and get to know their hopes and dreams as well as fears and anxieties. masterfully written. Thank you so much for this fabulous tale. Your Loyal Fan.

    3. I was suprised that Tina didn’t know what was going on all along. She is usualy the one that does notice. Never the less, they will have to change. I don’t know of this new job Tina is taking is a good step to take. They need a family break/holiday, with all the children, including Shannon, her girlfriend and Laurie. Get some fun back into the family. Love your story.

    4. I would REALLY hate to see it go this way with them losing touch with Jess and their family. I don’t think that they have been really bad parents, children and or people don’t come with written instructions. Beibg from a large family, I know first hand that sometimes the older children share in the care taking of the younger sibilings. No it is not the perfect solution, but it is the nature of the beast. When a famliy grows parents began to be torn in different directions because kids are different people, and if you are not trying to be your personal best, then you can’t give your best to them. Our children really lean more from what they see than what we tell then (Kind of like animals in the wild.), so if you are contastantly attending only to your childrens needs (i.e. living through them or falling in love with them as some parents do) the you are taeching them that they their lives as adults are not important, and when all your kids leave home (as the do and should) then you will have no life. PLEASE let them have a couple of healing talks with Jess and some more quality family time. Sorry for the vent :o)

    5. Sure they are not perfect but Jess and the others kids have never gone without…IMO,I think Jess was in the wrong here and francly out of line to talk to them in that way…Jess does alot to help out but that comes with being part of a big family…With that said, I love this story and can’t wait for the next chapter.

    6. Yep, that’s what parents do, they fail and they have no clue whatsoever. Glad I’m not a parent. I really like Jess a lot. Thanks for posting.
