“So does this mean that we want to have a baby?” Bette asked.

The week passed by quickly. There was very little talk of a new baby. Bette and Tina packed their bags. They had to be at the airport in 4 hours. Jess was outside playing on the Tire swing with Piper.

“Are we going to finish the baby conversation?” Tina asked. Bette looked at her and closed the door.

“If you want?” Bette said sitting down on the edge of the bed folding the clean clothes and putting them in the suitcases.

“How would you feel if we had another baby sooner rather than later?” Tina asked.

“How soon are you talking?” Bette said looking at Tina.

“Like we start trying when we get home.” Tina said hoping that Bette would not freak.

“I don’t know T. There is a lot of stuff they haven’t discussed.” Bette said going back to folding. “And let’s not forget Jess and how she would react to something like that.”

“I know that we haven’t discussed things like who would be the birthmother or the sperm donor. I haven’t forgot about Jess. I think she needs a little brother or sister. I grew up in a big family and I think she misses out on a lot because other than softball and school she doesn’t really hang out with a lot of other kids.” Tina said. Bette looked at Tina and smiled.

“I know how much having a big family means to you. That’s one of the many reasons I love you so much. So lets start discussing the specifics.” Bette said kissing Tina’s hand. Jess came bursting into the room.

“Moma can I go down to Toby’s with Piper and get some rock candy?” Jess begged.

“Who else is going with you?” Tina said.

“Uncle Ryan.” Jess said.

“I guess. Make sure that you hold their hands the whole way and only on piece of candy. Hand me my purse.” Jess handed Tina her purse and stood close to her waiting for some money. “Here. I mean it Jess just one piece. That stuff is pure sugar and we have to be on the plan all afternoon.” Tina said instructing Jess.
