She loved peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. She struggled to get the straw into the Juice box. She handed back to Tina.
“Will you open it for me, Please?” Tina smiled. She had finally began to break through the barrier that Jess had put up.
Bette sits behind her desk at work. She notices an e-mail from Andy (Jess’s dad).
Hi Bette
How is my little princess? I hope you are doing well. I coming in to town in two days and I will be in town for a couple of weeks meeting with the a couple of museums and visiting my sister. I would like for Jess to come stay with us if that is alright with you. I wanted to ask you before I mentioned to Jess I didn’t want her to get her hopes up.

He was such a good guy. Bette remembered the day she met him like it was yesterday. He walked up beside her and began the conversation with “Don’t you just hate this one” Bette jumped all over him with her great art speech. He was the last man that she had been attracted to in 15 years. He was a great artist and a great friend. She was at Mona. They only hooked up once when they were drunk after a party and that one time gave them Jess. After that night they knew they were better friends than lovers. When Bette discovered she was pregnant they decided that they would raise the baby together. About six months after Jess was born Bette was offered a opportunity she could not refuse in LA. It was a dream job. She almost turned it down because there was no way she was going to leave her baby. Andy would not let her because he knew how much she wanted to go. He told her that they would work it out and that people do it all the time.

Hey I haven’t heard from you in a while. Jess is great she is doing well in the new program at school. Even though she is still getting into trouble from time to time. Last week she and some of the older kids pulled a prank on the new teacher. Lets just say her hair is a light shade of pink. I don’t see why she can’t come stay with you while you are here. She was suspended for a week and it started yesterday so you will have all day. Call us when you get into town and you can come by and pick her up.
