Life: Altered 03.04 ~*~ Revealing Fate

    Stock footage of the band,
Doogie slamming away at his drums, the song was Revealing Fate, one of her earlier attempts at writing a
song. The footage was from a number of
shows, but the best footage was of the three nights at the Planet. She zoomed in on some of the patrons, cutting
their expression into the footage, and then Maddy began to sing.

“Holding me down, let me break free.
Out of my self imposed darkness, into your new found light.”
She sang, and Quin tapped away at the
computer, the footage on the hard drive was all of them when that particular
song was playing. She saw that one of
the guys that she’d hired to tape had settled in on Alice,
the journalist and Quin paused the playback.
Something clicking inside of her, something she’d seen, and what was it?

She leaned over in her chair,
pulling the small DVD disc that Boone had given her and she
inserted it into the drive, and stared at Alice
    in Boones. So that was
who’d been at the shop earlier that week, ok Alice,
we are going to have a talk. A small
smile graced her lips and she went back to work.

“Stealing me from your safe place, shattering my silent state. Urging me to scream, at the top of my lungs.” She and Maddy sang together, and she saw the
quick look that Maddy was giving her, and Quin ignored it, cutting it from the
footage, instead adding the zoom of Keith as he
whipped his long hair around. He took
over the solo, and Quin was moving her head to the beat, thinking that this
was, by far, the best performance of this song they’d ever done.

“Forget the past; it only drags you down, into the crushing sea of
    utter despair.”
    A quick drum
flourish, and “Unveiling what you should
truly be, the greatest work of art you’ll ever lay eyes on, your own true self.”
Maddy delivered into the mic a
heart felt voice and Quin inserted more footage of the crowd that was now
totally rapt with the song, banging their heads and moving to the infectious
    beat.
