Oh Tina dont say that. God look at you. Simone reaches up and lightly strokes Tinas cheek. Tina looks at the woman that she once referred was the most beautiful woman in the world and was drawn in. The small space between the two was quickly filled as their lips met for a soft lust-filled kiss.

At that precise moment the door to Bettes office slide open. Standing there was a shocked and devastated.

Shane and Megan had gone to Bettes office to get some privacy Megan and been strategically planting soft kisses on Shanes neck the entire evening. Shane didnt think she could take anymore so she grabbed Megans hand and escorted her to Bettes office for some alone time for the new couple. Shane opened the door her flirtatious smiled turned to a look of complete horror; as she was greeted by the site of her dear friends wife in a tongue match that would rival any WWF wrestling match. This isnt happening Tina and Simone arent in here kissing like this Shane tried to reason with herself. She didnt think she would be able to speak from being in a state of absolute shock but she heard a voice she immediately recognized as her own that apparently startled the COUPLE
Shane: Oh ***** no! Simone this is EXACTLY how NOT to thank Bette for her support and encouragement.
Tina quickly looked up with a look of sheer terror. She quickly moved away from Simone and covered her mouth trying desperately to cover up what had already been seen.
Tina: Shane its not what you think.
Shane: Tina save it you dont owe me anything not even an explanation”as if you could ever explain this. But thank God Bette wasnt the one to find this she would be crushed.
Tina: Are you going to tell her?
Shane: Tina it isnt mine to tell. God Tina what the *****”you guys are trying to start a family, now this?
Megan: (chuckling) This is too good. This is Tina? Bette thinks shes happily married woman someone better tell her wife because apparently she doesnt know shes supposed to be in a happy marriage. This is too damn funny.
Shane: MEGAN”this is anything but funny. I told you, you had one more time to disrespect Bette. Its so over between us.
Megan: (smiling mouth turned to a look of complete disappointment) Wait Shane come on you arent being reasonable. Im sorry Shane really I am.
Shane: Megan Im sorry too”believe me I am but I cant be around someone who is hoping for my dearest friend to be unhappy.
Megan: OK Shane you tell yourself thats the reason but you might want to admit youre still hung up on Bette.
Tina stood there listening to this entire thing unfold and though she was embarrassed and scared that her indiscretion would be discovered she NEEDED to know if Megan was right. Is Shane still hung up on Bette after all of this time? ***** if she is shell definitely tell Bette about this. Tina thought to herself and immediately jumped on the defensive.
Tina: I guess you cant wait to tell Bette can you Shane? Can you?
Shane: Tina Im not the one who wants to hurt Bette. I think you are doing a great job of that all by yourself.
Simone had been standing there in a state of disbelief. She didnt know why she kissed Tina or why Tina kissed her back. Simone knew she felt alone and terribly lonely but she also knew very well that Tina was a married woman did she do this because Bette rejected her time and again? I hope thats not the person Ive become she thought to herself.
Simone: Tina and Shane believe me it was a moment of weakness and nothing more. Im so sorry”please forgive and dont mention this to Bette. Shes been so great to me and I have to work with her. Oh God this is so messed up.
Simone felt tears come to her eyes as she realized just how much she messed up she decided she had to leave”NOW. She quickly left the office in tears and Megan left right behind her. There was nothing more she could do to convince Shane that her enjoyment of Bettes decaying relationship was anything other than cruel.

Bettes office seemed smaller now as an angry Shane shot her piercing gaze at a terrified Tina.
Shane: Tina dont worry Im not going to tell Bette anything, but if you love her youll do the right thing.
With that Shane left Bettes office leaving Tina confused and scared.
Tina looked down at the canvas that Simone had painted of Bette Eyes of Love and said aloud What is the right thing?

Out in the main gallery Bette finishes making her rounds with the critics and buyers and sees Alice and Dana they are holding hands looking at Simones paintings.
Bette: Hey guys Im glad you all finally made it.
Alice: We were a little busy if you know what I mean. But we had to come see this. Bette its amazing and there are what six or seven well-known critics here and Ive overheard each of them say each piece is great.
Bette: Well the artists are amazing. Hey have you guys seen Simone I wanted to catch up with her?
Dana: I saw her a minute ago it looked like she was leaving.
Bette: Thats strange. What about Tina? I saw her when she got here and I havent seen my baby since.
Alice: Your baby uh? Well we havent seen your baby either. Maybe the dingo ate your baby.
Bette: Alice you are such a guff ball sometimes. I know Kit didnt stand me up”shes not here either?
Kit: (walking up to her sister and friends) Baby girl you know I couldnt miss this. I am late and I wont be able to stay long Im meeting a record producer tonight after Radar at the Planet. Though I wont be here long sweetie I had to see this. You certainly do know how to pick out talent. Everything I saw here tonight is beautiful”including you. That suit is amazing.
Bette: (hugs her sister) Thanks for all the compliments and for coming even with your busy schedule. A producer”are you going back into the studio?
Kit: If all goes well. Ill tell you how it goes tomorrow. Thats the reason Ive been MIA for the last few weeks. Ive been writing songs so after tonight I should know something definite.
Bette and Alice: Kit thats great. Good luck with that.
Bette spots Tina and calls her over.
Bette: T where have you been baby Ive been looking all over for you?
Shane walks up to greet Alice, Kit, and Dana, her eyes never leave Tinas. Tina finally looks away but her guilt wont allow her to look directly at Bette.
Tina: Oh babe I was just wandering around andIm back now.
Bette: Good because I cant wait to get you home.
Bette wraps Tina in a loving embrace and whispers in her ear Tina its time to find out if were going to be mommies and I cant wait. Tina closes her eyes and fear envelops her as the guilt chokes out any good feeling of excitement she had earlier in the evening as she had prepared for them to take the test when they returned from the show.

The evening wrapped up and was a huge success. Bette was geared up to get home”she was excited like a kid at Christmas. The couple left to head home where the real success as far as Bette was concerned would be determined. Not surprisingly Bette beat Tina home she waited on the porch until Tina arrived. She noticed that Tina looked down and decided shed try cheering her up before they headed inside.
Bette: Baby, dont be sad or scared. The worse thing that could happen at this stage is well have to keep trying and to be honest with T”I love trying if you know what I mean. (Wiggling her eyebrows with a ***** grin.)
Tina couldnt help but feel the grin slowly creep to her lips. She was truly happy that Bette was happy but her guilt assuaged any true happiness for the moment that she could feel for herself. She felt her heart breaking despite the current state of the expression on her face.
Bette: Thats better baby”that smile it lets me know Im doing something right.
Bette opened the door and turned on the lights. She was greeted with balloons a bouquet of blue and pink balloons and one that said Maybe another that said Maybe Not. Tina had brought her favorite flowers”white roses and on the table beside the Maybe Not balloon was a sign that Tina had made with a package underneath the sign read If not this time”try, try again.
Bette turned to Tina with a huge grin on her face baby this is so sweet the balloons and flowers and you are right if not this time well definitely try, try again Bette pulled Tina in and passionately kissed her lips. Tina almost felt ill because less than an hour ago Simones sweet lips were devouring hers. Tina abruptly broke the kiss. Not that she didnt enjoy Bettes kisses”God no they still completely aroused her”even now. But the guilt the guilt plagued her. Babe dont you want to open the package? Yeah but Id like to kiss my wife too”that okay? Bette answered. Oh babe Im sorry Im just getting excited too. Tina lied. Bette unwrapped the package and Tina had brought them both ***** thong sets. Bette laughed and said, I love the way you think. On with the test and either way it turns out”Id like you to put these on tonight.

Tina went to the bathroom and brought the stick back out on a paper towel. The couple sat on the couch holding hands. Waiting to find out if they would be parents. Bettes heart filled with love and hope. Tinas heart filled with love”yes love and hope but guilt too.
