    Bette, Tina, Dana, Alice, Shane, Carmen, Helena, Dylan, Kit, Angus, Peggy, and Marilyn discover what John Lennon said in the song, “Beautiful Boy” is absolutely true: “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.”

     

    Clayton flies from LaGuardia to Richmond, Virginia on a regular basis as he organizes a union at a huge slaughterhouse where employee rights have been trampled upon.  His life has been threatened by union busters, but this is the work he loves.

     

    Alice and Dana have moved to the Hollywood Hills almost overlooking the apartment on Doheny where Alice had lived for years.  Alice did sell her website, Our Chart to an investment conglomerate.  She didn’t get 580 million like MySpace, but Alice walked away with several million.  Sharon and Irwin Fairbanks adore Alice and their grandson, Addison Fairbanks.  Dr. Wilson has informed them that Addison is in the top percentile on all growth charts.  He is athletic and Dana wants to get him on the tennis court as soon as he can hold the racket.

     

    Dana is scouting locations for the Dana Fairbanks Tennis Centers that will be built across the country as she completes her last year of competitive tennis.

     

    In the December issue of the Advocate, Dana and Alice made the cover with the caption, “LA’s Lesbian Superstars Spend Christmas at Home.”

     

    Shane left Wax and opened her own salon with the help of a Small Business Association Loan and money from Carmen. 

     

    Carmen is still deejaying and making major money as she is working every top party in the record and film business. 

     

    Shay, Shane, and Carmen, represented by Joyce Wischnia have a court date for Shay to sever all ties from his biological parents whom he hasn’t seen in almost three years.  Character witnesses for the hearing include Shay’s pediatrician, teachers, soccer coach, and several parents.  Shane hopes her past “on the street” doesn’t come back to haunt her in court.

     

    Shane is still in love with Carmen and Carmen loves her back.  They still keep it real and Carmen has a way of keeping it fresh.  Shane is mystified daily by the spell Carmen has on her.

     

    Helena and Dylan live on Central Park West in a penthouse suite.  Helena works the finances of Focus Features, keeping everyone on or under budget.  Dylan, the director is working alongside the editor of Twisted Forest to complete the rough cut.  Helena’s children live with them three days a week and Dylan loves it, though Helena still hasn’t talked her into enlarging their family.

That for me is remarkable. Jenny’s death in season 5 and her magazine being thrown in the pool – what can I say, your attention to detail is a gold standard in fanfic.     13. I read this chapter as slowly as I could so that I could savor every word of it. It was worth me taking the time, although I was fully aware that each time I clicked “Next page” I was that much closer to the finish. This was a fantastic end to such a richly layered story. Everyone got their ending, and each and every one of them earned it… the struggles each couple/family had to overcome to get to their happiness made it all the more believable. You didn’t cheat, Portia, not the readers, not the story. This has been such an absolute treat to read, through all the highs and lows, and I’ve loved every single word of it. (And kudos for not forgetting Jenny this chapter! heh) Thank you, Portia, for writing this story and taking us on the journey with you. Take care, and I hope we see another story from you soon.

    18. well after about a month and a half im finally finish with your story and as I wrote you before I truly believe you are a gift to writing and taking readers along for the experience. I had to stop several times for work or sleep but it was well worth the time. I prolonged finishing the last chapter didn’t want t see it end, but like the L word, like tibette chemistry, all good things but come to end….Bravo!! my friend I hope to see a book with your name on it forreal..til next story………

You did an absolutely remarkable job with this. The story telling, the storyline, the interweaving of the characters, seasons, cannon and AU was beyond incredible.
