    Keep Bleeding Love Ch.23

While Alice slept peacefully across town, Dana propped her foot up on the table and Shane began cutting on the cast…….

The ringing of her cell phone on the nightstand brought Alice from her slumber. Dean Porter flashed the screen alive. “Hey, B.” Alice’s voice was thick with sleep. The alarm on the nightstand read 1:22a.m. Dana should’ve been here long before now. “Alice, Shane and Dana are both extremely drunk. Shane had the oh so bright idea to cut Dana’s cast off because she was complaining about it. They went back to Shane’s to try to cut it off.” Alice immediately jolted awake. “WHAT?!” Bette flinched at the sound of Alice’s scream. “I told them it wasn’t good, but you of all people know how Dana gets when she’s drunk.”

Alice slammed the phone shut as she shot out of bed and grabbed her keys. On the way out the door, she dialed Dana’s cell. She picked up on the 2nd ring, slurring her words. “Hey, baby. I love you so much, Alice. I’m so happy it’s you. Guess what?! Shane helped me get my cast off!” Alice was fuming as she climbed into the Mini.

“Dana, are you still at Shane’s?” She could hear Shane on the other end slurring a line of unintelligible words. “Yes, I’m still at the home of one Shane McCutcheon.” Both Shane and Dana broke into a fit of drunken giggles. The kind where it’s not funny, but you laugh yourself into tears and end up snorting.

“Stay there, Dana. I’m coming to get you.” Alice was 10 minutes from Shane’s house. “But Al, we were gonna have a sleep over.” Dana sounded disappointed. “I’ll be there in 10 minutes.” As she whipped the Mini through the streets of L.A. the sleep she had caught up with her and she was wide awake. “I can’t fucking believe them. They’re both dead.” Talking to herself only fired her up more.

When she pulled into Shane’s driveway, she didn’t even turn the car off. She busted through the front door to see Dana with her feet propped up on the coffee table drinking a Budweiser. Both were void of a cast. “Dana where are your crutches, baby?” Shane walked down the hall and rounded the corner into the living room holding a beer in her hand, too.

    1. “Love you, pain in my ass” That was amazing..i RoFl’d. Bravo! danish_always. Excellent it was. I can only begin to imagine how you came up with that and the picture you drew out was great. Amazing post…i’ll be waiting for the next one anxiously!! Thank you el mucho.

    2. Danish? Danish! Woot!! Sorry to have not commented sooner. I’m thrilled to see you back!! And with three chapters? Yay!! I can see why Dana would be frustrated, but, she needs to be more careful on taking it out on Alice. I think this cast cutting off escapade may be the thing to get Dana’s mind back in a better place. It was hysterical to read and imagine — you wrote it all very realistically. Can’t wait to find out the fallout from it. Thanks so much danish_always!!
