Just The Girl, Stories: Redwind Revisited (Anger Management)

But it didn’t have to be.

It took a weed to pound that truth into me.

Until Tina, no one ever had the guts to call me out on my bullshit. No one had the balls to stand up and fight. She knocked me off my pedestal, and I didn’t know that it was just what I needed until I felt how good it was to be brought down to my knees by the one person who equaled me in so many ways.

To fall in love with the enemy was so cliché. But if you were in my shoes, and you were living my life, you’d realize that only thing that was truly played out in life was the falling in love part. Everyone, at one point in time, will find themselves falling hard and deep for someone that they’d never see coming. This love blindsided me. I didn’t know I’d feel this way about her. I just did. No need to psychoanalyze anything.

All I know is that I’m happy.. and for the longest time, I’m no longer crazy angry.

But.. that doesn’t mean that I don’t drive her up the wall though.

“You’re asking for my help? Mine?”

I could tell she was finding it hard to resist the urge to roll her eyes. She had to play nice. She was having a hard time with the subject and she needed my help. “Y-yes. I need your help.”

“So you really want to pass Calculus, hm? You’re really that–”

    “Determined? Yes I am.”

“I was actually thinking desperate.” I retort with a sly grin. Her eyes flashed with murder. “But I guess determined works too.” I quickly amend.

“So are you going to help me or not?”

    “Say please.”

    She glared at me.

“C’mon Kennard, it won’t kill you. Say please.”

    She hesitated a while. “P-please.”

“Good, that wasn’t so hard now, was it? Now come here and give me a kiss.”

She kicked me on the shin.

    “Ow!”

The smile on her face was innocent. Too innocent. “Oh I’m sorry, I thought you said you wanted a kick.”

    “Kiss!”
