Just The Girl – Chapter Twenty Nine (a HYD-inspired fic)
DON’T CHA..
“Oh my God..” Bette swallowed hard, her breathing becoming a little labored and her pulse quickening A huge part of her refused to leave Tina’s side, but there was also a tiny fraction inside of her that was being pulled towards joining her friends at the foot of the stage. Oh man, she groaned inwardly as she eyed Tina looking all cross beside her. I’m not even that big of a fan of the Pussycat Dolls, she sighed sadly as she eyed the people near the stage enviously. Having grown up with the children of the rich and famous, Bette was rarely ever star-struck. She was used to rubbing elbows with the stars – may they be big names in the entertainment industry or just small time players attempting to break in. So really, she wasn’t that eager or excited as some of her guests when famous people showed up or performed at her parties. Today was an exception though. There was a certain allure that sexy and empowered singing and dancing women had that piqued Bette’s interest.. and insatiable teenage sexual hormones.
DON’T CHA..
“What the—” Tina frowned when the table shook, nearly spilling the contents of the glasses on top. She looked down and sighed in annoyance when she caught Bette’s leg anxiously jiggling underneath the table as the brunette eyed the stage longingly. “Fine.” She huffed as she stood up from her seat. “You can join the others if you want to.” She moved around the table and tapped Jenny on the shoulder.
“Where are you going?” Bette stood up from her seat and angled towards the blonde. She felt like an insensitive prick. She didn’t know Tina hated the PCD so much. If watching the show made the blonde uncomfortable, she was more than willing to sacrifice her own enjoyment and hang out with Tina somewhere else.
“To the ladies room.” Tina looked at Jenny and raised an eyebrow. The small girl took the hint and quickly stood up from her seat. The blonde felt that she needed to get away for a little while. She knew she was being a little selfish and was deliberately keeping the brunette from having fun at her own birthday party. “Go and join your friends.” Tina evened out her breathing and attempted a weak smile. “I’ll join you in a few minutes.” After I keep myself in the proper prospective, she added inside her head.
