Just The Girl – Chapter Twenty Eight (a HYD-inspired fic)
“Fuuuucccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!”
The security detail stationed at the gates of the Porter estate jumped up in surprise when the Hummer’s horn went off. The two guys peered inside the car’s open window and noticed a blonde head banging continuously on the steering wheel.

“Wow..” Ken Kennard whistled as he entered his daughter’s bedroom and saw the red dress lying on the small bed. “Very nice..” He smiled appreciatively as he sat down on the edge of the bed and ran his hand over the soft fabric.
“Huh?” Tina looked up from her place at the floor as she packed her overnight bag. She was crashing in Jenny’s house after the party this evening. Her friend would be coming over to pick her up in thirty minutes since they would be preparing for Bette’s party together. She was actually surprised and overjoyed when she found out that Porter had invited her best friend to the party as well. She didn’t think that Bette would remember Jenny, after all, she did a pretty good job of not noticing her former classmate’s existence for four years. “Yeah, it’s beautiful isn’t it?” She smiled as she eyed the dress that her dad was praising. She had tried it on the other night, and much to her amusement and delight, she actually looked pretty damn hot in it.
“Yep.” Ken nodded his head in agreement. The dress was truly a very fine piece of work. “Too bad you’re not wearing it tonight.” He deadpanned.
“What?!” Tina shouted in response as her eyebrows shot up to the sky. “But why?” She whined like a petulant child. Since her birthday gift turned out to be quite a disaster, she wanted to make it up to Bette by granting her request and wearing the lovely, yet kinda slutty, dress to the party.
“I’m just worried..” Her dad shrugged as he stood up and walked towards her.
“That some people may take advantage of me in that dress?” Tina sighed as she crossed her arms on her chest. She was sure as hell that the only one who would try something fishy with her tonight was the birthday girl herself. Bette Porter’s jealous and possessive nature would certainly scare off potential oglers and admirers. So she really wasn’t afraid of being harassed by some guys, or girls, tonight.

I love your story! I love how Bette told Melvin that “Tina was the most important person in her life” and in front of everyone it was so sweet. I can’t wait for another chapter! PPS!
I am really enjoying this story. I like howyou have made Bette’s character grow.Of course, it’s always enjoyable seeing Melvin get put in his place. I wonder what other present Tina has in store for Bette? Will she really be staying over at Jenny’s tonight???? pps
My goodness…Bette jumped into the frying pan with both feet. She shared her feelings with Tina as well as her friends and stood up to her father in public. Can’t wait for more!!!!
That was awesome Bette, you go girl. Now let see B&T have fun on the party. Please post more, thanks!
I am so lovin’ every moment of this story. I admire Bette’s courage to take her Father down a peg by claiming her love for Tina publicly.
Very cool Porter-I am glad that she stood up to her father. I love how Tina’s father wanted her to wear a trenchcoat over her dress-I could almost picture it. Very funny. Great job!!!
