Just The Girl – Chapter Eight (a HYD-inspired fic)
"It’s okay to let it all out and cry." Tina shrugged as she leaned on her side at the ledge. "Saves you a lot of money from therapy." She laughed.
"I guess." Sam ran a hand through the back of her head as she massaged it gently. After a minute, she slowly slid her body down to sit on the floor with her back resting on the ledge. She grabbed Tina’s hand and tugged a little, inviting the blonde to do the same.
Tina followed Sam’s lead and sat down beside the brunette with their arms almost touching. Silence landed between the two of them as Sam closed her tired eyes and Tina stole glances at her from time to time. She was still a little worried about Sam. It broke her heart to see the one she cared for look so down and miserable, and it made her feel a whole lot better knowing that she helped alleviate some of the hurt, even if it was just in a little way. She didn’t know what had upset Sam so much.. but she somehow felt that it had something to do with Helena Peabody. Just how she was able to come up with that conclusion she did not know. But through all the processing that she did over the weekend, she was able to manage to put two and two together. Sam’s overflowing happiness when she unexpectedly received a text message.. followed subsequently by a weird, out of nowhere question about the length of the flight from London to New York (she had heard that Helena was attending college in London).. and finally, the look of total love in her eyes as she stared and salivated at the Shisheido ad of Helena. If Helena Peabody was able to make the normally aloof and stoic Sam Makavejev smile and act like a love sick puppy, then Helena most certainly also had the power to make her cry. Her mind went back to the kiss. Why? She looked at Sam’s face. If you’re in love with Helena, then what was that for? She sighed.
"Umm.. Sam?" She said as she gently prodded the brunette. "Are you awake?"
"No." Sam whispered, still with her eyes closed.

I’m really enjoying this story so far, and can’t wait for Bette to stop being such an ass and make it right! Although I feel Tina’s going to take A LOT of persuasion to get her head round this one! pps x
way to go bette… thats one way to win someone over… i was wondering if sam was going to come to her rescue… but was happy to see bette stop that shit too… wow what a story… and i’m loving it… thanks for answering my questions… PPS
OMG my heart is pounding from that chapter! I can’t wait to see what happens next!
I can’t believe Bette let Tina get hurt like that. Poor Tina! Time for Bette to pull her head out of her wazoo and do the right thing for once in her self absorbed life.
this is so good and love it!
Loved the way you portrayed their feelings, but my question is: Does this type of hazing and bullying really happen in american schools? Nothing like that even came close to that in my high school, hell, even country..
