Journey Of Love Ch.35
The gang chatted for a while longer before Kit got up and told the girls that she would be right back. She remembered that she had told the band that she would look them up before she left. The girls told her to have fun talking music and to come back in a while so that they could leave after the show. Kit laughed and shook her head at her family as they were always worrying about each other, caring and loving each and every member of the group whole-heartedly.
Kit made her way to the back of the stage to see Kawika and the rest of the band. They talked for a bit and told Kit how much they loved her music. After showing her some of the local music of the islands and how to strum a ukulele, Kawika had a great idea.
Eh, Kit. I get one idea foa you. You said you was hea foa somthin special right?
Well yeah my baby sister and her partner
Yeah, das right. Try come. I get one song foa you. Would be perfect foa you to sing to them! And goin make things dat much moa special.
Really? Well that would be cool Kawika. How fitting to have a song by a local artist for the occasion. Do you happen to have the lyrics?
Well we get da CD ova hea. As one olda song, but still nice. Dis group has been together foa 20 yeas already. Dey good let me tell you. Try listen to um first and I go write down da lyrics.
Sounds like a plan my man.
Kit sat there listening to the song that Kawika had in mind. She swayed to the music, lost in the love and the words of the song. The sweet song entranced her heart, and she couldnt wait to learn the lyrics so that she could surprise her baby sister and sister in law.
Kawika finished putting the lyrics of the song down on paper for Kit, and told her that she could keep the CD. She told him that she could go out and buy a copy, but he insisted, saying that it was the Aloha Spirit. When she offered to purchase the music from Kawika, he politely told her that meeting her was more than enough payment in itself. Kit promised Kawika and the band that she would send them advanced copies of her latest album, and told them that if they were ever in LA to look her up. After saying their goodbyes, Kit walked back to the table, where the rest of the girls waited, with a grin that was as wide as the Pacific. She had no idea that her music had reached the great 808, but was sure glad to have met some fans in Hawaii and to have made new friends.
