Chapter 6: Confrontation!

The look on Eric’s face told the entire story. Bette had lied to him about Tina and now she was making a move on her. Tina’s parents didn’t understand what Tina was doing in the restaurant with a woman

“You bitch, you lied to me” Bette looks at Tina and gulps hard “You told me that you didn’t know where Tina was” Tina looks at Bette startled and confused

“For good reason” Tina decides this is a good time to intervene

“Let’s do this somewhere less public” Richard looks at Tina and shakes his head. He disagreed with Tina’s decision to leave Eric

“No let’s do this here” Tina closes her eyes and shakes her head, she knew her mother would not be happy “You think you can just walk out on a perfectly good marriage because you’re not happy well I forbid it” Bette and Tina couldn’t believe what they had just heard. Tina’s mother forbids her to be happy. Tina quickly thought of something that would send her parents and Eric into a spin. She stands up and moves next to Bette. She takes a breath. She had dreamt of this moment since she met Bette but this was not how she wanted it to happen. She gently leant down. Her lips captured Bette’s in a soft, gentle kiss. She couldn’t believe how soft Bette’s lips were and how they felt so right on hers. Eric and Tina’s parents watch in horror and disgust as Tina slowly pulls away from the kiss. Bette sits stunned as Tina resumes her seat opposite

“What the fuck!” Tina is unfazed by Eric’s outburst. She was still revelling in the feel of Bette’s lips on hers

“I’ve been hiding who I really am for too long and I’m not going to morph back into the person who does what she’s told anymore” Bette just blinks at Tina, her parents have a look of sheer surprise on their faces and Eric’s expression was just priceless “I’m gay and I have been since I was fifteen years old” Bette couldn’t believe Tina had strummed up the courage to come out to her parents and her husband all in one go
