It Takes a Village: Megan meets The Porter Sisters, Part 1
"You’re prettier in person. I googled you and Bette."
"Oh, thanks. Come in." Megan walked into Kit’s apartment, "So, um…shit, I don’t know where to begin. Where’s Bette when you need her? Uh…could you wait here a sec, I’m going to call my…well, I guess our…sister."
Kit escaped into the kitchen to call Bette. Megan took this time to look around. Her house had funky vibe to it, definitely something for a jazz singer. Definitely. She smiled at the pictures she saw, bittersweetly. She saw pictures of Kit and Bette, some old, some new. They had a close bond, it seemed, and she wasn’t there. She resented the fact that she had never experienced the bond between sisters and the fact that they had been lucky enough to know each other. She also saw a picture of Bette, Kit, a blonde, and a baby girl. She wondered if this was her sister’s ex and their kid. Kit walked back into the room.
"Bette’s on her way over. I didn’t tell her exactly why she was coming over, but she’s bringing the baby."
"Is this her daughter?" She pointed at the picture.
"Yeah. Angelica. And that’s her baby mama, Tina."
"Oh. They’re a beautiful family."
"They’re not together anymore."
"Oh, I know. Googled it." Kit rolled her eyes playfully. She hated everything about the internet. It just wasn’t her thing.
"So, you’re from Philly?"
"Yeah, southside." Megan walked back to the couch and sat across from Kit, "My mom’s name is Lupe. She’s a chef."
"Lupe? Isn’t that Spanish?"
"Yeah."
"Oh. Daddy was tasting the rainbow then, wasn’t he?" Megan laughed at Kit. She instantaneously decided Kit was the funniest person she’d ever met.
In thirty minutes, Bette (always the voice of reason) was sitting in the living room watching her daughter crawl around on the floor trying to get into Megan’s bags.
"I think we should do a DNA test, just to be sure. Not to offend you, Megan." Bette said.
"I’m not offended, not at all."
"But you can’t tell me she doesn’t look like a Spanish version of you, Bette. You can not tell me that." Bette looked at the seventeen-year old and smiled.
"Maybe a little. I’ll schedule it for tomorrow sometime. For the meantime, you should stay over my house. Kit doesn’t have that much room here."
"That’s true. Well, I’m just gonna say this in advance." Kit began, "You are going to become a part of the strangest and most intricate family you’ve ever met."

I like the concept of Bette and Kit having another sibling, but dislike the thought of this being a Bette and Helena fic. Is it???????? :(
Kit really is very funny. Amazing family, I would’ve described them as. As well as intricate.
You’ve really nailed the Belena pairing, and I’m glad you’re sticking with them. It will be interesting to see how Megan adapts to life in WeHo.
ohhhhh baby!!! this is going to be good…you’ve got kit down and bette as an older sibling to a 17 year old…cannot wait to see where you take us!!!
I also like how you threw in the Belena pairing in there also with the new Porter sib coming along the way. I like the last sentence that Kit says. She’s telling the truth, but it’s also a supportive and loving family..But anyways, keep up the good work PPS and thanks for loving my stories too! lol
This should be fun with Bette and Kit having to deal with a 17 year old. I’m sure Megan is in for a good time with all the girls.
Hey ash I am so liking Bette and Helena, loved how H took the first step and kissed B and then at the end Bette telling Helena she wasnt going to be let out easy,,,lol,,wow that Megan when she starts something she goes for it, like her other two sisters…great chapter ash!!
very interesting. I like it! Even more better it’s a Belena! Love it! PPS!
WOw that went kinda smoothly for Megan, I was sure the sisters would make it difficult for her and wouldn’t accept her like that.
I’m not a huge Belena fan but I enjoy your writing that I’m intrigued by this pairing.
