Infatuation

“Tina! Tina! You have a date tonight!” Alice said loudly while sitting down at our table. I sip my coffee and look at her, uninterested.

“I’m sorry, Alice but I don’t.” I tell her.

“Yes, you do. I just set you up with this gorgeous woman and…” She begins to talk and I sigh.

“Alice, Alice, I am not going out tonight. I’m going to watch a movie and go to sleep.” I tell her.

“Oh, come on, Tina. Just give it a chance. She is having a beach party tonight and we’ll just go over and you can meet her.” Alice tells me. I shrug my shoulders, she’ll just bug me until I go… Better stop this torture now.

“Okay, what’s her name?” I ask, interested.

“Carmen de la Pica Morales. She is this cool Latina and I’m telling you… She is smokin’ hot.” She tells me. A Latina, hum, never had that. Maybe this could be interesting.

“Okay then, but you are driving.” I say and Alice beams.

“Off course.” She says and is practically dancing on her chair.

Alice and I have just arrived at the party and it’s crazy. A lot of people, a lot of alcohol and loud music. A band is playing some Latin sounding songs and I actually love it. Alice is talking to me, as usual and I am just looking around when suddenly, this beautiful woman walks over and smiles at us.

“Hi, Carmen!” Alice says.

“Hey, Alice.” She greets my friend.

“I told you about Tina right?” She asks her motioning at me. I just give her a stupid smile, she is so beautiful that I can’t seem to keep my cool.

“Yes, you did but you left out that she is breathtaking.” Carmen smiles at me. And I blush. Gosh, I can hit myself, I never blush.

“Thanks.” I murmur and she smiles.

“And cute to.” She adds. Alice’s eyebrows go up and a satisfied smile spreads across on her face.

“I’m going to leave you two.” She says and then walks away. Another song starts, and she looks at me.

“Want to dance, gorgeous?” She asks, as if she already knows the answer.

“I would love to.” I react and she leans me to the dance floor.
