    I Wish CH 18

     

    The dinner and light conversation carried on for more than three hours. Both women were surprised that the time had gone so fast, and that they both had enjoyed it so much. It was with reluctance on both parts that they called it a night. Angelica had fallen asleep an hour previous, snuggled into Bette’s untiring arms. As Bette followed Tina to her car carrying her daughter in her arms, she would have given almost anything at that moment to be going home with them to the house. To their home.

     

    After securing a still sleeping Angelica in her car seat, Bette turned to Tina.

     

    "Thank you. For having dinner with me, for allowing me to spend time with Angelica on your time."

     

    "Bette. There is no my time, your time. You can see her anytime you wish. You can come by the house anytime. Actually. Why don’t you come by tomorrow afternoon for a swim, and for dinner? That is if you are free I mean."

     

    "Are you sure? I don’t want to intrude."

     

    "We would love it if you would come over. Your daughter adores you, don’t you know that by now?"

     

    "Not as much as I adore her. I would really like to do that. Thank you Tina."

     

    "No problem Bette. We will see you tomorrow. Have a good night."

     

    "You too, see you later."

    Bette closed Tina’s car door for her, and stepped back to allow Tina to pull out onto the street. She stood there and watched until the tail lights were gone before she made her way back inside to gather her belongings and head to her condo. She still couldn’t think of it as home.

     

     

    The next morning being a Saturday, meant that all the girls would be at the Planet for brunch.

    When Bette walked in, the only one there was Helena. Bette ordered a coffee and made her way over to the table.

     

    "Good morning."

     

    "Good morning Bette. It seems you and I are the only ones that have made it so far. Which I guess is a good thing, we haven’t had much of chance to talk lately. How are you doing?"

    8. Lyndsey78 sounds like Tina talking to her. Bette maybe should make that email available to Tina. Tina should know what was happening to Bette at that time. Interesting POV with the email. Something that most of us have not seen in writing or put much thought into.
