I Need A Hero: Bette and Tina Beginning Chapter 4

Chapter 4, Tina’s POV, Six Months Later

The aftermath of DarkDay’s destruction and Bette’s death led me to quit the FBI and join the police force. I was working in homicide; it was the only place I felt close to Bette. I had managed to find an apartment and had settled down in the city. I wouldn’t say I was happy but I felt content and a sense of belonging

Jodi: Tina can I have a word?

I loathed Jodi. She had done nothing when Bette was killed. There was no memorial service, nothing. It was like Bette had never existed.

    “What do you want Jodi”

Jodi: It’s been six months since what happened to Bette and I don’t think you’re coping

“I don’t care what the hell you think”

Jodi: I want to see the force’s shrink

“No, I don’t need a shrink I need to be left alone”
Jodi: As your superior officer I’m ordering you to see the force councillor

    “No”

Jodi: I’m giving you an order Detective

“Stick your orders up your ass”

With that I walk out collecting my jacket as I leave. I did not need a shrink to tell me I was struggling to cope with Bette’s death. I already knew I was struggling. I needed to grieve in peace, away from prying eyes and interfering persons. The girls were doing all they can to help me but it wasn’t enough. I wanted Bette to hold me and tell me that everything is gonna be OK but that was never going to happen. I wanted her to kiss the pain away but that was never going to come true. I was angry at the world, I was angry at Bette for the decision she made but most of all I was angry at myself for letting Bette go. I enter my flat to find Shane, Alice, Jenny and Tasha waiting for me

    Tasha: Jodi called

    “Oh great”

Shane: She’s just trying to help Tina

“I don’t need anyone’s help Shane; I’m perfectly able to deal with my emotions”

Jenny: You’re grieving, we all are

    Alice: Bette wouldn’t want this

    “Don’t, don’t say her name”

Tasha: We all loved her Tina

“NOT IN THE WAY I DID!” I could tell the girls were shaken by my outburst, I didn’t care I needed a release “I never thought I could fall in love with as quickly as I did with Bette” That fact was true.  I fell in love with Bette before I knew it, it wasn’t just the fact she had an air of mystery about her but it was also the fact that she was willing to protect me for anyone or anything “She was the one I had looked for my entire life and I would do anything to get her back” It was true if I could turn back time and find a way to stop DarkDay before he killed anyone I would have “The world needed a hero and that hero died doing what she was here to do”

Alice: At the cost of her soulmate

I didn’t know Bette thought as me as her soulmate and she didn’t know I thought of her as mine. But my grief over Bette was the last thing I needed since an old enemy had decided to make a reappearance

Henry: I’ll get you Tina Kennard, mark my words; DarkDay may be dead but his vessel isn’t

I was about to contend with a whole lot of problems, one of them being the man whose inner beast destroyed my life

    TBC…

    1. Well, if that evil bastard Henry can come back why can’t Bette? I really thought her mother would somehow help her to live. And Jodi needs to back the hell off. She doesn’t care about Tina, she wanted Bette for herself. Thanks for posting.

    2. That fucking asshole needs to die…in ALL his incarnations. Bette needs to come back so that she and Tina can show each other some love. And Jodi can drop dead for all I care. Thank you for making this happen! :)
