Tina

Tina orders a glass of wine and settles down in her seat. As, she stares out the window her mind wanders back to what had happened between her and Bette.
Damn her, her eyes begin to swell. She orders another drink. She starts to wander if Bette is even aware of the pain she has caused her, or aware that right now she is on a plane and going so far away.
Of, course she thinks Alice she knows she ran right over there after dropping her off. Every one knows Alice can not keep a secret. Maybe, that is why she told her, maybe deep down inside she wanted Bette to come stop her from getting on the plane. Why do I even care? Yes, I care; how can I not care it has been seven years. Tina closes her eyes and begins to think about her life with Bette.

After all it was Bette who pursued her, she loved Bette, and she cant believe she can still have that love feeling still after the terrible thing she just went thru. She was going to figure out a way to forget Bette. She drifts off to sleep.

The plane lands hours later

The flight lands and Tina departs the airport. She grabs a taxi to her hotel. She walks into the lobby and is in awe of the beauty of it all. She checks in and goes to her room.
Her room is huge and the terrace opens to her own private little beach area. She was assured by the travel agent that she would have total privacy and that is what she needed right now. She knows that she has to call Alice or maybe she should call Bette she is far enough away. She decides to call Alice.

Alice is not home, she is still with Bette. Her machine comes on. Tina leaves a message.

Tina: hey Al, its me Tina, Im here, and Im safe ok. Do not worry I will call you in a couple of days. OK love you. Bye

Tina hangs up; she is glad that Alice is not home she didnt want to here the million questions routine. She could call her cell phone, Nah. Ok, ok first things first I have to go shopping. Tina heads out to go shopping.

Bette and Tinas house

Bette has finally stopped crying. Alice is still there with her, Alice makes coffee.

Alice: here you go

Bette: Thanks, I am so sick to my stomach (wiping tears form her face).

Alice: I am sure you guys will work this out. You just have to give her time to calm down.

Bette: Im not sure that is a good idea Alice. Tina doesnt handle things too well. I mean look she just gets on a plane and leaves, no clothes, no good bye not even to me I know I fucked up but Damned. What is she thinking? What was I thinking?

Alice: Shell call Bette, she promised she would call.

Bette: Its been hours.

Alice: Yeah I know. (Thinking should I check my messages here or not) oh *****

Bette: Whats wrong?

Alice: Nothing let me check my messages, she picks up the telephone.

Bette: Good idea.

Alice dials her machine to retrieve her messages; Bette moves closer to Alice and says any from Tina

Alice: shh, shh I have 10 messages

Alice out loud: Dana, Dana, work, work, work, my mom, mom again, Dana, oh ***** Tina

Bette: Whats she saying, let me listen

Alice: She didnt say, just to let me know she is safe and shell call again a couple of days.

Bette begins to cry.

Alice: Bette stop it, youre giving me the creeps, all this crying.

Bette: What am I supposed to do Alice, I love her, I just love her.

Alice: I know Im sorry come here (they embrace for a hug).

Bette: Alice

Alice: yes

Bette: Can we go to your place and check the caller id; I mean maybe there is a number there.

Alice: *****, yeah lets go

Back to Tina

Tina after spending a good part of the day shopping enters her room and throws the bags on the bed.
She brought all the things that she needs plus some extra pieces of clothing.
She changes into her bikini grabs a bottle of wine and goes out to her private beach.

It is so beautiful the sand is white and the ocean so blue, so quite. Damn Bette would have loved this. ***** why I am thinking about her. She drinks some more.
