I Fell In Love With A Straight Girl Ch 3
“Like that’s stopped you before!” Kit yelled over the music.
Always one to take notice, I thought to myself
I reached the table; Carmen looked up from her stare at the crowed and smiled at me. I gave her, her drink and then sat next to her.
“What do you think?” I asked
“This club is great, I can’t wait for the band to start.”
I smiled at her, then took a long drink from my glass. I stopped the looked at it; Kit gave me some type of liquor, probably to take the edge off.
“Shane come dance with me!” and suddenly her hand was in mine, and we were on the dance floor. She took in front of me and grabbed my hands, and guided them towards her hips where they stayed. She rocked her body in to mine, and together we swayed.
All around us people were dancing, but when she turned around and stared in to my eyes I felt like I was the only person.
I wanted so much to tell her how beautiful she was to me, but before I got the nerve to. The band started to play.
Jumping excitedly Carmen looked at me. “Tegan and Sarah?” They are my favetorie!”
Score one for me I thought.
She hugged me then started to sign a long with the songs.
She hugged me then started to sign a long with the songs.
“ I felt you I my legs before I ever met you.
And when I layed beside you
For the first time
I told you”
The lyrics hit me hard. I was 19, and I had these strange feeling for her. But in order for her to know this, she would have to know me. Suddenly the music was too loud and the smoke from the bar was too thick, I wanted to run away I wanted to leave and just I was about to turn around. She grab my hand and pulled me into another dance, she wanted me to stay. This was clear to me, but how would she feel if she knew about my past.
“Now we’re saying
Bye, bye, bye
Now we’re saying
Bye, bye, bye
I was nineteen”
As the night wore on I gave up on wanting to be distance, I gave up on hiding, and I tried to have a good time.
After the band played their last song, I took her outside. And on a limb I asked if she wanted to go to my secret place. Much to my surprise she said yes.
We drove to the edge of Austin; the city was our playground as the lights lit our way.
“Pull in here” I said quietly, she did so and parked against the tree lines.
“urm we have to walk the rest of the way, but trust me it’s worth it.”
She smiled at me then got out of the truck. I ran around to the front to meet her.
“We could never do this in L.A.” she whispered as she took my arm. “It would be too dangours.”
I laugh a little, “Its okay I come here a lot when I want to get away from the city life.” It was also were I lived for a few months. I wanted to say but dared not to.
We walked arm in arm threw the trees until we finally came to it.
It was a little spot in the clearing of the trees, a hill that overlooked all of Austin.
I took off my jacket and laid on the grass for her, she smiled and sat down with me.
“This is amazing Shane.” She cooed, “It looks so far away.”
She lean closer to me as the wind started to pick up. I wrapped my arms around her and rubbed her arms to keep them warm.
“Shane,” she looked up at me when she spoke “ I can’t thank you enough for bringing me out here, this is the sweetest thing someone has ever done for me.”
Something happen
What it was I wasn’t sure
But instead of saying “You’re Welcome.”
I kissed her.
And I think she kissed me back.
