Hungry heart. part 2
For the last two weeks Tina had been lifeless, she did nothing else but cry, stare into oblivion, or scream. She would cry at the smallest things that held the heaviest memories, but she would scream at her hands. Tina would look at her hands; scream as though she had just been shot, and then cry. This last week however her mood and state of mind had changed dramatically. She had only cried a few times and had stopped screaming all together. The staring was yet to pass however.
Tina sat, on Alices couch, motionless, staring in to oblivion.
Stop that, youll fall in. Alice said sitting on the chair opposite Tina.
Hmm, Your right. Tina said looking up from the wall.
What you thinking? Inquired Alice.
I dont know, how I got here? Tina said sighing.
You didnt get here alone Tina. Alice said changing the tone.
Yeah I know, but either did Bette. Tina said implying.
What do you mean?
I mean whilst she was the one who knocked the wall down, be both pot the cracks in it.
Alice sat for a moment to fully understand what Tina was getting at.
How do you do that?
What?
You have just had your heart broken by the only woman you have ever loved and you still are able to think rationally? Alice asked in amazement.
Ha, I took a physc class in college Tina answered laughing softly.
Tina?
Yeah?
Can I ask you something? Alice said in a serious tone.
Yeah, what?
Would you ever go back? Alice said breaking eye contact.
Yeah, I would. Bettes the only one I have ever loved so much that I cant breathe, she is the only one who I have ever felt completely safe with. I knew all of this when I first met her all those years ago but I think so much would have to change.
Like what?
Um, ok, ultimately we need to find each other and our selves again before we could move past this place. We need to learn to appreciate each other again.
Have you been talking to Shane?
No, why? Tina asked puzzled.
Because you sound like Yoda
What Tina had said really hit Alice, she had never thought about this situation like that. As far as she was concerned, this was Bettes fault and she was the one who had to fix it. But thats not how Tina saw things and now she understood why. It takes two to tango she thought to her self.
When do you think you will talk to her?
When she comes to me, she knocked down the wall and I am not helping her put it back together until she starts.
You like your wall metaphor dont you?
Yeah, I do
Ok, I have to ask you something else
Hmm?
For the past two weeks you screamed countless times, I noticed that you were screaming at you hands, why?
I screamed at my hands because its missing Tina said holding her left hand up to show Alice the absence of her wedding band.
For so many years that has meant so much to me and when I took it off I didnt know hw much I would miss it, I didnt realize how much it helped me get through those hard times.
Oh, I thought you were just becoming mentally deranged Alice said smiling at Tina, lightening the mood.
It amazed Alice how much the smallest things in life can mean the most to you. For Tina it was having that ring on her finger, not just because it meant hat she was married to Bette, but also because it held a lot of memories for her. It was a source of strength for Tina

I like how logical Tinas’ out burst were and why. I also enjoyed this chapter. Please continue.
i understand what tina says aboyt her ring perfectly, i can not stand my hand when i have to take out my ring… thanks god its just a few time each year and because of major forces just during a few hours…
Thanks for a rational view of it.
Great job! I don’t think it was too soft…you’re right, their proverbial wall had many cracks in it before Candace the bulldozer came along. Thanks for this chapter!
