Home to Stay til the 12th of Never
Bette looked into the blue eyes that shone with excitement.
“Don’t break my heart.” Jodi said using her voice and pulling Bette into a kiss.
Bette saw the happiness in Jodi’s eyes and knew that she had broken the barrier between them. She leaned in for the kiss and lost herself in the sensation. As their lips met and Jodi deepened the kiss Bette felt a profound sense of loss. Her stomach turned and she broke the kiss confused by her reaction. This hadn’t happened in ages.
Jodi looked at her quizzically but the smile did not dissipate.
Bette, she signed, I can’t believe that you did this. It’s wonderful.
Bette was pleased that her efforts were well received and beamed with pleasure. She could have this woman and now she found she did not want her. She had flown thousands of miles and put herself and her friends at risk for this big romantic gesture and she felt empty.
I hoped you would like it. Bette signed to Jodi. I remember you admiring it and I thought you might put it to use in your Origami in Steel. Bette turned the consummate art connoisseur examining the installation of Jodi’s latest work. It’s brilliant; Bette signed and nodded her appreciation and approval.
Jodi however remained unsatisfied and spoke of what she felt was missing. After she and Bette signed furiously to one another the missing piece fell into place and Jodi gave direction to Tom her interpreter for the installers. An hour later modifications made Jodi signed again. That’s it.
Bette saw it then the subtle change made the impact of the work startling. What was brilliant was now breathtaking. Jodi smiled pleased at Bette’s reaction and satisfied.
Let’s get out of here. Jodi signed to Bette.
Are you sure? Bette signed back. When she hung exhibits she could not tear herself away until the last piece was in place.
I’m sure. Jodi signed to her. I am satisfied.
Bette laughed and took the hand Jodi offered her as they made their way to Jodi’s car.

I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! You could see on their faces at the end of season 4 that that grand gesture was for naught. Bette’s heart was back in Cali. I hope you continue this. Always a fan Kelika…always a fan.
Thanks Sky. Ratings without comments is like something without something and does not inspire continuing even though I did.

Hi. I really like the start (havent read further yet) and I really like the realistic nature of the dialogue. I’m not a Tibetter who hates Jodi only her love life and I have to say you captured her personality well (without the crazy bits ;-)
