About 20 minuted later as Carmen drifted off into her dream filled oblivion, Shane was still wide awake thinking about Carmen, her angel as Shane had so often thought, truthfully if one looked at both their lives, the picture in which they where painted would show Shane in hell and Carmen in heaven.. two separate worlds, completely different in every way.. but no matter how different their lives where, they had one thing in common…. love.. and not just any love but the kind of love that most people can’t find in a lifetime and now it was up to Shane to take that jump….

It was now a little after 8 a.m. and the ride to the center had been fairly quiet…………. Shane had shown up at mark’s door, looking better then she normally looked.. if Mark was honest he would say better then he’d actually ever seen her… and the relaxed smile she ware was a dead give away that she had finally told Carmen how she felt… Mark knew but wasn’t gonna ask.. he knew she’d tell him when she was ready.. among the many thing he had picked up on during their talks, he learned most importantly when to push and when to just shut the fuck up and now that’s exactly what he did….

They pulled into the parking lot a few moments later and Shane sat glued to the passenger seat… she felt nervous but happy.. truly happy…. She was so far gone thinking about the night before that she didn’t even realize they were already at the clinic.. until mark casually cleared his throat.. she snapped her head to the side "sorry" she said looking at her friend for confidence that she was doing the right thing… her nerves had begun to get the best of her and she silently wished she was back home and in bed with Carmen……..

"Shane………… you okay" he asked noticing the far off look in her eyes

"ya I’m fuckin fantastic" she exclaimed causing mark to chuckle lightly, but Shane’s expression turned serious "Mark…. I’m scared" she admitted in a slight whisper

He looked at her for a moment as if to guadge whether she was talking about Carmen or the clinic, then put both his hands on her shoulders and forcing her to look up at him"you can do this.. i know you can… and I’m sure Carmen and the rest of the gang do too."
