    Author Notes:

    It’s the morning hours on the day before New Year’s Eve in LA. Alice and Dana awake to find Lara already gone; Lara makes a quick stop at Carmen’s before going to work; Bette and Tina talk; Winnie and Leigh meet briefly, before things get down to business between Winnie, Helena and Peggy; Jenny and Shane rest.

    Bette: Right.  So instead of dating, we’ll just hang out together, right?  With a baby…

    Tina: There’s always the Planet.  And who knows…?  Maybe you’ll find someone.

    Bette: And you?

    Tina: I’m not looking for anyone.  Between you and Henry, I don’t think I can take much more.

    Bette and Tina look at each other for a moment and slowly begin to share in a laugh.

    Tina: And you could always wind up with Helena.

    Bette: Say what?

    Tina: Oh, please.  I saw the two of you on the plane.  You were practically ogling her.

    Bette laughs for a few more seconds.

    Bette: I don’t think the World’s ready for something that insane, least of all me or her.  I think I’ll be okay just focusing on motherhood and my upcoming employment.

    Tina kneels down to Bette and Angelica.

    Tina: …I really hope we can still work things out as friends.

    Bette smirks.

    Bette: I hope so, too.

    Next door at Jenny’s house, Max is up watching the morning news.  There’s always something of note happening and today is no different.  Meanwhile, Shane’s bedroom is empty, but across the hall, Jenny’s bedroom is occupied as two friends, Jenny and Shane rest side by side, fully clothed.

    She enters the apartment and notices the couch is folded out for the bed in the living room.  Lara walks towards the fold out bed and notices someone other than Carmen sleeping there.  She recognizes her, but only remembers her being with Alice briefly before Dana’s condition worsened.  Lara looks towards the bedroom and sees the door closed.  Carmen has heard the door to the apartment open and close, figuring in her mind that perhaps Uta decided to head home after all.  As soon as she hears the voice however, she realizes that’s not the case.

    Lara: Carmen?

    Carmen slowly gets out of bed and in only her briefs and tight shirt opens the door.  There is silence for what seems an eternity, but in reality is only a few seconds.

    Lara: …I…just wanted to see if you were okay…

    Carmen: I’m alive.  You?

    Lara: …I don’t know.

    Carmen smirks.

    Carmen: You don’t know if you’re alive?  Wow, they really fucked you good last night.

    Carmen walks back to her bed and sits at the edge as Lara follows, crouching down in front of her.

    2. Wait…Do you mean eveyone is moving into Helena’s home? so Why the hell does she have to move out of her own room? I luv Peggy, but come on. With Carmens temper, Lara should’ve come better prepared for a discussion. She had an opening & blew it. Glad you’re feeling better Kace. Hope the writers block is over, have to see where you take these people. Great update.

    3. Kace! This is bullsh*t…they can’t give up like that…and they HAVE enough friends…You can get them back together. I was looking to see why you gave me a sad face…I should be giving you a sad face…you’re trying to break B&T up…don’t do it Kace…and PLEASE don’t follow the way of the Belenas…Make it your challenge to get them back together. Let them have a period of them being friends…GOOD FRIENDS…then let them see they belong together. They aren’t going to be able to live in the same house and date other people that will drive them insane…AND PLEASE NO HELENA. Hello Kace? Can you hear me? Is this thing on?
