    5. Jwet….welcome back and thank you for another outstanding chapter! Also, thanks for the offer to email me; but I am all caught up now!

      Now, my comments………has anyone noticed that out of all the friends, the only one that has ever minded her own business has always been Shane. Alice has made it her personal mission to always be in the middle of anything going on it Bette and Tina’s life; and truth be told, I am really getting tired of it. Dana is only in it BECAUSE of Alice; other than that, Dana would be just like a Shane.

      I am elated that Kit decided to talk with Bette about the money and I am so glad that she didnt go off on Bette about using her part of it. In the end, Bette did keep all the money in the family, so in essence, as long as MVY makes a profit, they all do well.

      We all agree that Helena has got it coming to her. I do feel that if Bette and Tina want to pull off something grand, they are going to need the help of the Grande Dame herself; Big P….yep…Peggy! Peggy and Helena dont share the same arrogances; Peggy does it with style, something Helena cant ever achieve!

      Now Alice, she has got to be stopped by any means necessary! She has no family/friend loyalty. Alice is so concerned with getting herself the recognition of an “ace reporter” that she never stops to see the forest for the trees. It is neither her place or business to go to Tina about anything. I could understand if she was doing this because she felt she needed to look out for her friend, but Tina is NOT being hurt or being taken advantage of by Bette. Bette and Tina are madly in love with each other; why cant Alice just accept that? Alice is starting to remind me of a Jr Helena!

      Hell, I dont know which of the evils are worse; Alice or Helena?

Uuuuuuh Jwet, you are SOooooooooooooooo wrong, for giving me (and yes I am taking this personally–ha,ha) four (ok, three) pages and not revealing it to Bette that Alice told Kit until the last sentence. That is worse than a cliffhanger. Oh yeah, where are my manners–IT GREAT TO HAVE YOU BACK GIRL. I don’t understand why Kabby thinks that it is time to have a family meeting and tell everyone. Bette has the right to keep her actions secret if she pleases. That what selfless acts are about. Heck if it has to be told then I am sure that Alice will tell it. I hope that Bette does not let her off the hook or go easy on her. Alice has to know when to reel herself in especially when it comes to VERY CLOSE friends and FAMILY. Heck, I think that Kit should be a little pissed to when she finds out that she went digging around into Melvin’s probate records. At lease Dana sees the selfless act, but she wants Alice to go ahead and publish the story. THESE WOMEN DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF PERSONAL PRIVACY. Hot damget everyone need thier own personal space and has the right to keep something private if they so choose. Great chapter, Ilove the additional bonding going on between Kit and Bette. Kit is sooooooo right it says ALOT about Bette that she didn’t keep any of the money for herself, and I am sure that Melvin would be proud of her for what she did.       As for Bette, I don’t think she’s going to blow up. She may get annoyed with Alice for poking around without asking her but right now, Helena will be faced with the full force of her fury.

    29. Welcome back Jwet, a marvellous continuation of your story as usual. I actually had it in my head that Kit already knew about the foundation, but I guess she does now. I am curious to see Bette’s response to Alice’s snooping. Is it her innate curiosity or the fact that she’s a reporter or the fact she wants to be all up in everyone else’s business? I’m not sure even Alice knows what her own motives are. Looking forward to the next installment. Thanks!

Welcome back! hope u had a good time and well rested;) as usual love your story and especially the way Dana sums up Bette’s sacrifice and great love for Tina. oh oh – will alice get her head chewed off by Bette – erm, I dont think so (althou likely Bette have a few things to say to alice abt being an inquisitive nosey parker) but hey, if alice dont dig into the whole story about the foundation, then she is not true to herself (that being an investigative reporter) – the good thing is that Tina knows everything – so i guess the tables will turn on alice when it is revealed that all her hard work to pin Bette to the foundation have been to nought :D – love your style of writing as always – cheers

      Yes, feel free to use the scar analogy anytime! Now, on with the show:

      Alice is like some sort of terrier, she gets a hold of something and she is not about to let go! I want to know if Alice has ever been this dogged about any other foundation and it’s funding? Why is it soooo important for her to expose Bette? If she truly knows and understand her, then she should know that she is not going to find her little invesitgative romp amusing at all.

      Who knew that Dana could be so articulate? She is not just a dumb jock. She knows how big business and the political arenas work. Putting it all out on the table for Alice shows that she knows a bit more than Alice in that regard. She was able to stand toe to toe with her and make an impassioned plea – unfortunately, it doesn’t look as if Alice wants to pay attention.

      Dana is about romance and the goodness of humanity and Alice seems to follow the addage of “If all you have is a hammer, then everything looks like a nail”. Sometimes being an investigative reporter means that you can actually find the GOOD in a story, rather than the negative.

      Alice doesn’t want to take Dana’s advice and talk to Bette because she likes being able to hold the trump card of power and exposure.

      Great to see Kit and Bette bonding. Even nicer that Bette let Kit know how much she appreciated her support over the last year. Blood is thicker than water, for sure. I do think that Kit was happy that Bette handled everything, even if she was a little exasperated that Bette didn’t keep any money for herself. But then again, that was the point…it was a selfless act.

      I sure hope that Alice has a Titanium Butt Protector, because she’s going to need it. Bette will be angry that Alice went snooping around knowing that she could have potentially hurt not only the foundations future, but her relationship with Tina. Kit should be angry with Alice because she got used and placed in an awkward position with Bette once she told her it was Alice that figured it out. I just keep having the phrase “Warning Will Robinson…Warning!!”.

      Although Helena is annoying to no end, I see her as acting more out of self-hatred and insecurities. Alice I see acting more out of a underlying maliciousness and/or jealousy. But I suppose she too, could be acting out of low self-esteem – she does seem to have a need to be right all of the time.

      However, on my despise-o-meter, Helena is currently at a 6 out of 10…but Alice is off of the chart. But I do have the perogative to change my mind at any given time. And as you said, Hurricane Helena is just taking a break.

      Can’t wait to see what happens next!!

      I throughly enjoyed this chapter, and I am going out on a limb and defend Alice. Alice was the one Tina turned to after the affair so she saw the raw pain in Tina and she wants to protect Tina. I hope she just wants to make sure Bette is not manipulating Tina, which we all know. I hope Kit or Tina helps Bette to appreciate Alice actions. (So how thin is the limb I’m on?).

      Some good ole country cookin’ always puts a smile on the face, a taste on the lips and satisfied grunt for the belly.
      As for lovin the cookin’. It was just a guess given the brilliance of your story.
      OK so status report:
      Go, girl, go – directed at Dana. Fabulous to see her strident and telling Alice what for!
      As for Alice, phenomenally captured; all the digging and detective work coupled with that wonderful innate sense of humor.
      Kit is a clever cookie and really surprised Bette. All the financial stuff just flew over the top of my head.
      As for Bette, brilliant to see her acknowledge and thank Kit so beautifully for all her support.
      The great thing about families is that they are right beside you come rain or shine. Sometimes you don’t see their support but it is there when you need it.
      End of the week questions:
      What type of personal injury insurance and protection does Alice have? Fully comprehensive I hope! Does she have any athletic equipment from her & Dana’s role-playing games that might help? Hockey mask, Mouth guard, etc….
      Should Kit’s line “You really are a hopeless romantic.” read “You really are a hopeful romantic.”?
      Anywho got as home to go to for the weekend so will return to loads of new chapters on Monday.

That is what Bette wanted, To be very Privacy in this.She wanted this to last a very long time to help a lots of people. Alice is in for a good ass chewing, from Bette and Kit.
