    Chapter 62 – Winding up the Spit Ball

    Peering down, Grace can see Jackie and Tina as they prepare to stand and welcome newcomers as they enter the hall. Both women are beautifully adorned in splendid evening wear. This will be quite a night as Grace feels the excitement in the air as she starts down the staircase. As she gets close to the bottom she recognizes Bette moving up behind Tina. Pulling Tina a little to the side and then taking up position slightly behind her. Grace smiles as she looks at Tina and Bette, thinking that they make a very handsome couple.

    Approaching the bottom of the stairs, Grace called out to the group of women I think this place looks almost as beautiful as you women do. Grace says as she is close enough for Jackie and Tina to hear. Tina turns along with the gentleman and his wife that she was talking to and as they turn Grace recognizes David McClarion from the Accent Corporation. Seeing David, Grace quickly includes And Gentleman. The group all laugh as everyone seems to be wearing bright smiles as they are all in a festive mood.

    Ah that is awful sweet of you Grace. Jackie says as she turns in Graces direction as the two woman embrace in a polite hug.

    Yes, you too look great Grace. Im so glad you came. I wasnt sure if you had already skipped town. Jackie continues.

    Now you know I would never skip town without saying good bye. This all looks wonderful you have out done yourself tonight. Grace says as she spreads her hand and pivots around.

    Thanks Grace. You know Tina is primarily responsible for making tonight happen. I just put it in her capable hands and she ran with it. I just helped a little with the guest list and made sure I showed up on the right night.the rest was all her. Jackie says with a certain amount of boasting on Tinas behalf.

    I know what you mean. That girl is a marvel. Grace responds Hey while Im thinking of it. At the end of the summer can I convince you to break away from the heat of LA for a long weekend? Im throwing my annual pig roast and you never know who just might show up this year. Grace says as she raises her eyebrows in a mysteriously joking way.

I got a feeling something is going to happen at the Ball which will leave Tina working things out herself about Bette’s involvement with the Foundation, rather than Bette being in a position to tell her direct. But you have promised a NC17 after the Dinner, so maybe she won’t take it too badly or maybe Bette has a whole lot of lovin to do to make things up to Tina!!!! LOL
