    Chapter 52 – Catching Fire (HMS 1)

    Well if things really play out right I probably will have as much time with Anna as I do today. I mean it will take more time initially as I learn the new responsibilities but more importantly I will need to hire the right person to be director. If I am able to get someone who is capable.

    Here Tina interrupts Bette You mean someone as good as you. Challenging Bette as Tina knows that for Bette to hire some as good as herself she will ultimately need to give up some control.

    Bette pauses on this. Smiles as once again Tina has gotten to the heart of the issue. Looking at Tinas profile in the darkened car Bette wondered to herself why she hadnt had more of these give and take conversations with Tina before.

    The quietness from Bette made Tina think that she had over stepped her boundaries. Ah Im sorry I shouldnt have said that.

    No no Tina thats not what I was thinking at all. No just the opposite, I was wondering why we didnt talk like this before. Bette got out and then immediately was sorry because she really knows why. She wouldnt let her. Im sorry Tina. I know why. I never listened to you..I mean really listened before. Bette says as the awareness hits her. Im so sorry. Bette then adds quietly.

    Hey that was in the past. Youre listening now so why dont you go on. Tina says after a moment she takes to process Bettes apology. This Bette might just be able to give up some control and still be in charge.

    After a moments hesitation Bette continues, Well youre right of course. If I hire someone as good as myself, I will have my freedom to have my time. After they are properly trained of course. Finding that person will be hard and then you always will have the egos to deal with. But of course with all that said I cant imagine anyone with an ego larger than mine. Bette jokes, as she can at least be honest with Tina.
