    Forever Friends Ch. 14

    Previously –

    “Thanks Al.”

    “For what?”

“For being here with me.   For refusing to leave until you knew I was ok.  For being my best friend and for loving me.”

Alice didn’t know how to respond.  Dana’s words came as a surprise and warmed her heart.  She simply replied “You’re welcome” and kissed Dana’s hand.

    Chapter 14 –

Alice smiled at Dana as the nurses brought her back into the room.  Alice waited until Dana was settled in bed and the nurses left before she took her usual seat and started talking to Dana.  “How are you feeling?”

They’re trying to fucking kill me Al.”  Dana’s words came out a little harsher than intended, but she was tired and sore.  She knew Alice understood and would not become upset with her tone.

“It’s physical therapy Dana.  What do you expect?”  Alice replied with a grin.  This is how their conversation began for the past few days when Dana returned from physical therapy.

As expected everyone came to visit Dana at the end of last week and over the weekend.  Tina even brought Angie for a little while hoping her presence would help lift Dana’s spirits.  Dana’s parents and Howie also stayed for the weekend and their visits were surprisingly pleasant.  Dana even enlisted her moms help to try to get Alice to go home for a few hours just to get out of the hospital but Alice refused.  Dana finally quit trying to get others to help her convince Alice to take a break when she asked Shane.  Shane adamantly refused to help.  Shane told Dana she wasn’t even going to suggest to Alice to leave for a few hours because she had a good feeling Alice had no intention of leaving the hospital until Dana did.  The selfish side of Dana was glad Alice refused to leave because she liked having Alice with her all of the time.  She had gotten used to Alice always being around after Lara left.  Dana felt guilty though because she knew Alice was putting her own life on hold for her.  Dana was suffering enough in her own ways, she didn’t want her friends or family to suffer too.

“What are you thinking about?”  Alice asked pulling Dana from her thoughts.

    1. I couldn’t stop laughing about the pig flying by the window. So funny. And the last person A “slept with had fangs and no reflection.” Onto a more serious note, I think your story progresses nicely. I certainly did not think at all the pace was at a snail pace. You did a fantastic job writing the coma scenes. It was what the story called for. So pat yourself on your back because it was good. I am so happy to learn that D was ready to go back home. You have to love A for her undying devotion to D. If only everyone could have a friend like that. I really am looking forward to D opening up to A and showing how she really felt. I continue to enjoy this story a lot. Thank you Cougar.

    2. Great update, cougar! I think the jump ahead worked fine — I don’t feel like anything was missed. The story is flowing very naturally. Love that Dana is doing so much better. Silly Dana! Of course Alice will take care of you! ;-D I look forward to your next chapter. Thanks!
