They sat side by side in Dr. Wilson’s office.
Dr. Wilson watched the two of them carefully. She was secretly thrilled that they had inquired about and expressed interest in the trial. She would have picked them if it were her choice. These two were ideal. They were in a committed relationship; they had both had children using an artificial form of insemination. How sexist and discriminatory those terms were. They more than met the criteria she and the other researchers had been given to work with. For many governments the use of female sperm was problematic. She was sure that the only reason the research moved forward at all was that in some kind of doomsday scenario where male insemination or sperm could be an issue there was a necessity to be able to repopulate. No one was hoping to provide female couples the option of having their own biological children. For some it was the pure science. For her it was for women like the two who sat before her that she worked on this project.
Bette and Tina were special. She was always struck by the connection these two women had from the first time that she had met them. Like many other lesbians in WeHo she took comfort in their reconciliation. The last time she had seen them Bette was pregnant with her late wife’s child and Tina was her birth coach. She was amazed that their relationship had been able to accommodate as much as it had. They were fooling themselves then claiming that their only connection was their first child Angelica. By the third trimester she was compelled to instruct them on sexual activity during pregnancy because any fool could see that they would succumb to their feelings soon. They seemed to be the last to know that they would indeed need that information.
She reviewed the parameters of the study which they were familiar with.
“You need to be aware of some special conditions of participation in this study.” Dr. Wilson advised them.
“Such as?” Bette asked suddenly wary.
“There is a gag condition on this study not just for researchers but for participants as well. You cannot disclose to anyone that female sperm was used.”

HEllo Kelika, Great to see that the gals are going forward with this option. I am sure it will only serve to bring them closer together. Their family is everything to them both so any child will be lucky to call them Mom. Sweet to see that Specimen T was the more viable here. Guess all of Bette’s alphaness ends somewhere. This seems like an amazing process but also too good to be true. Bette was pretty slick with her idea and Dr. Wilson picked right up on it so all parties involved will not be identifiable.
Now don’t get mad that I’m commenting instead of writing, LOL! I am enjoying this so very much. Love the whole premise and who knows…the future will be an interesting place. Gotta say that I find the idea of Tina even having a sperm count very amusing and have a suspicious that Ms. Holloman would find it amusing as well!
