    First, Last, Forever ch. 3

I just sat there staring at Angie. A lot of things going through my mind. I didn’t know what to say. Was I happy for her? Was I ok with this? I love Bex as if she was my own. Dana and Lara were like family, like sisters to Tina and I. Our kids had grown up together, it was only natural for some to be closer than others.

    "Mom?"

    "Yeah."

"Are you gonna say anything," she asked, looking a little scared, "are you mad?"

    "No baby of course not."

"Then why aren’t you saying anything," she asked kind of panicked.

"Ange, I was just thinking, that’s all," I said and she frowned and looked down, "hey look at me. I’m not mad, it’s just shocking."

    "I know."

"How long has this been going on?"

"Almost two years, since my nineteenth birthday."

    "Are you happy?"

"Of course I am. I think this is the happiest I’ve ever been."

    "Do Dana and Lara know?"

"Not yet, well maybe they do by now. She’s taking this time to tell them."

"I don’t want to embarrass you or make you uncomfortable but, have you two, had sex?"

"Yeah," she said looking down, "that’s why I’m telling you and Bex is telling Dana and Lara. It’s gotten serious and I, um."

"What baby? You can tell me," I said after her hesitation.

"I, uh, I’m in love with her," she said and sighed, "I mean I’ve always been in love with her ever since I could remember, but now I am sure."

"Angie, I am happy for you. You shouldn’t need to feel like you have to hide things from your mother and I."

"I know, but it felt different you know? Isn’t it wierd? I mean we grew up together, we’re all like family. I was afraid you’d think it wasn’t right."

"Babe, you’re not related by blood. They are our framily. Hell a lot of people who are married, married someone they’ve known their whole life. It’s not so uncommon," I said and we sat in silence for a while, "when did you plan on telling your momma?"

"Hopefully on this trip, I wanted to tell you both. I wanted you to know first because you’re the one person I know will be honest with me even if my feelings get hurt," she said and sighed, "that didn’t come out right. You know what I mean."
